just been out for some testing on my private air strip and got some iffy results

how much control does traction control actually have once you've switched it off..i dont believe its fully off but abit shocked if what im hearing/feeling at full wack is the tcs cutting in?

floor it, car pulls hard and then it sounds like BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB....

does this when tcs is on and off...usually in 2nd and a little in 3rd

but have only started noticing it since having milltek DP fitted

also returned home to view my logs...one healthy original maf peaking at 163g/s at 5120rpm

but got quite abit of cf activity, most notable 4s and 5s on 1 and 3 after 3krpm
BUT i am running on 95ron fuel at the moment as i got desperate and had to stick a fivers worth in...do you think this would dissapear with 98ron? IIRC im only running Boost 4 (maybe 5) & timing 6

or is it possible the noise i thought was tcs is actually timing pulling back?

anyone got an opinion?

If I launch HARD with tcs on, the engine will just kill itself completly and then you get a huge bang from the exhaust.

Without tcs on its just smokey wheel city lol

i find the best approach is to launch reasonably aggresively and then the tcs isnt bad at all, too much and it will just kill everything like matt said, not sure if to use it at the pod on the weekend, may try a run before and after!

I think my MAF is dying too, the cars hunting at idle occasionally now and that was a symptom when the last MAF died, no time to log it now though as im working nights until the trip to pod so it's just going to have to do!

im gonna disable mine, useless. just cuts power and makes exhaust do a huge banging noise! like backfiring!

Ive noticed that as soon as i put 95ron in, i get less boost and mucho timign pull/noticeably slower.

I get a brrrrrr vibration under full chat, its cos i bolted aquamist to the inner wing and it seems vibrate the whole engine bay

thats basically what i wanted to hear.. i was abit concerned about going to pod on sunday only to find a coilpack is on its way out but it does sound like it is the tcs is cutting in even when its switched off

i wouldnt say the car is any slower than when running on 98ron though really...

The Ibiza's TCS system is 'off' when you turn it off

I think that you might be seeing the EDL kick in (but again - this should be off when the TCS is off...)

I'll have to double check, but I think the ABS fuse and the TCS fuse are shared - which would not be a good thing to pull out as the Ibiza's brake balance is sorted by the ABS and is just downright scarey without it (as std)

more likely if you're launching without TCS and getting a buzzing noise your front engine mount is on it's way out & the engine's tilted back rubbing your oversized downpipe on the subframe

well apparently you can do something on the turbo, the small vac pipe, if you block it off your TCS doesnt work any more or something, ill try it in a week or so see how it goes :)

Id put some vpower in, do a battery reset and alignment and youll be fine for the pod.

Its prob cos im advanced 16 degrees on the timing, its a hell of alot :)

what's wrong with pressing the button?

I think the TCS is controlled by the ECU though.... it'll just shut the throttle

that doesnt sound good....but its happening whether TCS is on or off
any idea how i could check for this? just visible effects the only thing i can really?

ok...it is a mis fire

150miles to pod helped it go from random to almost every time i floor it

i had codes...
random misfire detected
cylinder 1 misfire detected
fuel too low

planning on swapping plugs soon cos they are pretty old even if it is just a coilpack..

but wondered if it could be caused by advanced timing? was gonna knock it down today but didnt get too

i wonder because it misses when on full boost
