The T3 sensor that these turbso are having threaded into the houseing. Its a tapered thread and so far ive had it tightened twice and its come loose, locked tightened and sensor replaced and it still does it but it lasts longer erecy time I try something new so tonight its out with the cable ties!

Some loctite in the threaded hole and on the threads of the sensor should do the trick buddy

thats wat i was thinking, red rather than blue too!

Blue flame assure me that domestic grade silicon sealant is rated at up to 700 degrees, this is what they recommend you assemble thier systems with. The problem being that the egt can be in the region of 950 degrees.

With all the options available for K03 cars compared to K04 cars, I've often wondered the same. People quote more out of AM04's and JBS04's than stock K04-23s...

On a separate note, there's a guy with a Star fitted GTRS Eliminator on an S3. He said that Star had an ATP manifold on the shelf even though the owner felt the stock K04 manifold was good for 350. He's made 330bhp(223whp)/306lbsft on Star's rollers.

He also said he's got a Apexi AVC-R fitted to control the boost (a few people going for these now...), and started off with 550's but was overfuelling, so was going to go with 475's

How big are LCR/TT injectors?

Apparently the S3 runs the STOCK manifold, not the ATP one.

NEW OPTION!
Right folks I have a new option Turbo Dynamics (www.turbodynamics.co.uk) can rework our stock turbo to the same spec as the yanks but not the polishing and ceramic coating (as they have had loads of problems with it flaking off etc). Or they can source us new turbos and re work them for under £1k. They are going to phone me on Monday with a price and availability on the ko4-23 unit. They have expressed an intrest in a group buy (they can get the parts cheaper that way so so do we!) Who would be interested in this option?

Prices to be confirmed on monday

I was at Jap fest and they had a stand there so got talking to them about turbos. I explained everything and they said they could help out as they have done a few of these before. Im waiting for exact prices on monday so there estimates could be way out but a recon and upgrade wasnt that expensive, But these units wont be polished and ceramic coated so i think that must be about £200 off the bill?

I was looking at it as an option if i cant get the yank unit

.
 It has already been discussed! For a new unit it works out around £1300!! Around £900 for a modded used unit! Doesn't make sense to me!

the prices scott were told today are a lot cheaper!

but i guess he is waiting until he gets a quoted price (2mo with any luck) as to not get ppl's hopes up! ;)

How much cheaper is it than £900 boys?

Sounds interesting, but too late now for me, already sent money in jacob's direction:)

I suppose you can always get it port/polished here in the UK and ask about a thermal coating over here aswell.

Hope all goes well:)

this sounds interesting - what do you think wild willy?
Hi Mate,
I'm already commited with Jacob. Although all these different options should make for an entertaining future RR events.:)
When i spoke to turbo dynamics they told me that thier hybrid is guaranteed to 1.2 bar max. I lost interest at that point.
Guys, who ever you go with please do your homework b4 parting with your hard earned.
I rang a number of turbo specialists b4 going with Jacob, some seemed ok until you start talking in detail.
Remember we do have a sucessful hybrid implant in the form of Yermother who did have good RR results to back up his opinion of good performance gains.
I'm certain there are companies in the UK who can create a hybrid at least as good as the one i'm importing, the problem is finding them.

I've got a spec sheet for a Turbodynamics K04 somewhere - not sure if they're offering the same thing.

When I looked, it was "better" than a stock K04, but not that much. Certainly didn't seem worth the money they wanted (not saying they are a rip-off).

I'm sure TD can build a K03S/K04 hybrid - tuning shops that offer these hybrids must be getting them from somewhere ;)

I'll say it again though, if you want to save a few quid, talk to Jacob about remvoving some of the options, although I would say that if you can't go for the full works, don't bother.

It's worth doing to make extra power, but not just to add to your sig.

I'm certain there are companies in the UK who can create a hybrid at least as good as the one i'm importing, the problem is finding them.

..and telling them to do the right thing, Jacob's turbos are tried and tested.

P.S. On that audi-sport.net/AMD RR Day, the S3 with the hybrid turbo, is (unless he's changed it) an S3 with one of Jacob's turbos, MRC Tuned. Compared to the other S3's there, it did better but outright not stunning. Not seen the curve yet, but the torque figure is there (like Sie's) Dahlback Inlet as well...
