i took the plunge and bought a set a couple of months back, but im not that impressed by them. i do a lot of motorway driving and find they lift off the screen, they are also hit and miss as to how well they shift the water.

Stupid question time now, so feel free to reply with a sarcy answer if you want :p

Is it just the passenger side you have problems with? Which side do you have the 21" blade on?

I take your stupid question and raise you with mine! :p

These blades, are these aero style blades that fit on the standard arms or do they require the arms for aero wipers as well? I've looked at the site above and can't work it out.

I've just been outside to have a look at mine and they look like they sit higher up the windscreen than yours Beowulf.
I have about 1.5" between the blade and the plastic trim yours is fouling on. If it were lower it would definately be in the way.

It might be worth taking the arm off and moving it round a spline or two to get it out of the way if you want to stick with the aero blades.

Tim, did the blade lift off while you were going along, or was it just that it lost its' springiness?
I've only had mine a couple of weeks so I'll keep an eye on them and report back if there's a problem.

They used to lift while going along, the worst was on a motorway in the pooring rain. On every stroke they were jumping off the screen. The literly left the screen by about 2 or 3 cm and then came crashing back down. I couldn't see a thing.

Tim, I've had the Bosch ones for over a year and have just ordered these Valeo ones. I'll post when I've sussed the difference.

The problem I had when i tried a set of these was that ever now and again the drivers blade would lift off the screen. For the first couple of weeks they were perfect, and I didn't have any problems. After about two months it got so bad it became dangerous. So I replaced them with a normal set of blades and everything was fine.

The ones I tried were Boosch I think. I would be intested to know if these ones are any better. Like I said it took a few months though before I saw the problem.

I've got a set of these on my Bora and they work perfectly. Did you get ones for a left hand drive instead? If yes, the aerofoil would be the wrong way around and cause the blade to lift at speed.

don't bother if u have a leon m8 they don't fit just tried to fit mine
they go on easy click and ya done but if u have the angled wiper on the passenger side they hit the plastic covering:( because of the way the arm is bent
shame really they do wipe the widow screen quit good
does anyone want to buy them £15 lol:)

Looking on that site mate, the driver/passenger set say 2 x 26" blades, did you get them maybee?

The individual ones are 18" and 21" ??

Meeeep Meeeeep !!!!!
If they're anything like the genuine Aero blades then your wiper set up should be like the one below (unless you cut the passenger blade down an inch and then cut some grooves in to reconnect the end cap)

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered some.

Like AshTDiFR said, they can't be any worse than the ones I've got already.

And they don't cost much more than a set from Halfords.

Will let you know how I get on.

Nope they were right hand drive. They used to jump off the screen even when the car was standing still.

Just about to order some of these too...

If they are to long I'll be chopping one down.. could you not order a 20" one instead? Suppose it might miss in the middle.

Going off on a slight tangent, but the only reason I want to try these is because I usually get smears where the arms put most pressure on the screen.

In theory these blades distribute the force evenly.

I mostly use my wipers to clear bugs/dirt, hence the smears.

For clearing rain, I hardly use them at all. I've got several coats of Rain-ex on all my windows and it just beads straight off. I drove through a torrential downpour on the M4 this morning - no wipers. Everyone else had theirs on fast speed!

Just thought I'd add this little nugget of info. BTCC uses Rain-ex, so if it's good enough for them....

Now, if only someone would invent "Bug-ex". They seem to be attracted to the OVNI paintwork!

Well i got some off that same ebay seller and they fit perfect... about 15/20mm gap between end cap and edge of screen. Weird how some fit + some don't.

Seem to work fine. but the Valeo logo on the clip is upside down, so i'm hoping that doesn't mean they are LHD ones...

They are Valeo UM621- says Audi A3, Citroen C2/C3 Astra Megane + Golf on the pack.
