Still looking for either of the above (in my price range).

Was just wondering what were the actual difference between a Cupra 150 with Cupra R bodykit and an FR 150+?

Sorry if this has been answered loads of time

The difference between a cupra with a cupra R bodykit on and an FR+, quite an odd comparison as Cupra's dont have R bodykit's on them. The only difference would be the wheels. The standard cupra gets them orrible mutispoke things and the FR+ gets cupra R wheels in 17" guise.

And cupra's arent 150 they are 180 unless you mean a petrol FR which is still 180. You need to clarify what you mean as i think you are getting the models confused.

Basically Cupra petrol has black bump strips and multispoke alloys, about the only distingushable difference between it and a 1.6 is the twin pipe and slightly diff bumpers.

A FR+ 150 diesel (used to be called cupra tdi) has a full cupra R bodykit with 17" cupra r wheels.

But the FR petrol which took over from the cupra petrol is the same looks wise as the diesel.

Now im confused

i think he means the tdi as the cupra tdi was the 150 bhp then the fr replaced it and was a 150bhp tdi

A petrol cupra and a diesel cupra made at the same time look the same. The older style cupra was facelifted before the diesel cupra was released.

I do indeed mean the diesel Cupra.

This comes about as on Autotrader at the moment there is an 04 reg Cupra 150 Tdi that definetly has a Cupra R front bumper! But horrible alloys.

I was just wondering what other differences there were

We have 3 models :-

Cupra
FR
FR+

Mechanically - all are exactly the same (150 bhp standard)

Difference between Cupra and FR are :-

Cupra has CD autochanger - FR has single changer

Cupra & FR have different wheels (FR's much better IMO)

FR has silver wing mirrors (Cupra has body coloured mirrors)

FR has "FR" badges on each front wing above wheel arch - cupra doesnt (although some have the small cupra flag instead).

FR has slightly different colour interior

Some Cupra's have the "Cupra" badge on the rear - FR doesn't

Difference between FR and FR+ are :-

FR+ has the Cupra R bodykit (front & rear bumper)

FR+ has a smaller version of the Cupra R wheels (17" instead of 18")

FR+ badges are all red - FR's are Silver & red

Hope that helps !!

My friend has an 05 Leon FR+ TDI and it is a good car. We had a few comparison tests out of roundabouts on the way to Jabbasport last week and there wasn't much difference between his car and mine. I have a Mk3 Ibiza Cupra remapped to 199bhp. Mine did 30mpg on the way to jabba, his did 47mpg!

MPG is certainly whats attracting me!

Plus im only 21, so a Cupra R is probably a bit of overkill to be honest.

Just need to find something i can afford
