Petrols run 312mm brakes
TDi's run 288mm brakes

Not all cupra's are created equally

what do you have?

there was a thread on here that related to diameter, if in doubt take one of your wheels off and measure the diameter as I did. A lot of people list the cupra as 288 but not all are this size.

satilaboy; if you can see your discs through your wheels? measure the disc diameter if not take one wheel off and measure to confirm, hope this helps ;)

I don't know how I can be more obvious.

1) don't buy your brakes from ebay - they're a safety critical item after all

2) read my post above regarding which size relates to what engine

Its not technically off of ebay. Its off of YBRacing who are an official OMP dealer with really good prices, i have used them alot and i would recommend them to anyone. Items are top Noch!

I have an 02 cupra, i supposed ill have to measure them then coz everywhere saying cupra: 288 CupraR(P1): 312 CupraR(P2): 321 or somethin :|

But does anyone know what the back ones are since thats what im looking for atm. Im sure thoose are all the same size?

Everywhere does not say ^^^ that's just incorrect information

Top notch, but sell on ebay (does not compute) - OMP pads - I hope you're never behind me when I have to brake.

Size wise, the std Leon Cupra 1.8T are 312mm on the front definatley.
All Cupra R with the Brembos are about 324mm.
Tdi's then vary depending on year and BHP.

If you can't give accurate info, then think twice

UK spec LCR's are 328mm Discs (Eurospec may have Leon Cupra Petrol spec)
Leon Cupra/FR Petrol - 312mm brakes - same as TT/S3
Leon Cupra/FR TDi (irrespective of age) 288mm brakes - same as Mk4 golfs with 288mm brakes

tris - people's opinions on bits they bought for their cars are like this: they will never admit to a bad mistake - better to go with a tried & trusted brand than hope that the cheap option is good

I was giving the accurate advice to the relevant question ref the std Cupra discs.
Didnt state accuracy againgst LCr discs..about 324mm
And indeed i believe TDi's do vary depending on year and BHP,maybe the Cupra/Fr tdi's are 288mm,but im failry sure a 110hp would not be??

Correct if im wrong just stating my opinion, and apologies if i am wrong.

So OMP aint a good brand  I use them with my karts and track cars. They are rated as high as Sparco and Momo etc. Please keep your opinion to urself as thats all it is if ur saying OMP aint a good brand.

f*ck you pal. I'm just saying - why experiment? when there are known to be good sources of supply, and excellent pads out there that work in the formula supplied with the car in question

I didn't relate my answer to any go-karts or track cars (nor did anyone else)

22 posts know it all it seems & proving my point regarding why people will rarely admit to a wrong choice.

Spot on...

As for your last point... That's why 99.9% of LCR owners will never admit it's a big old barge that doesn't go round bends :roflmao:

out of interest, does anyone use the plain brembos from gsf for their lcr, they are bound to be cheaper than dealer/motorfactor types.

Well PAL, im using my Leon as a track car, and my brake supplier's where giving me 2 differnt figures so i thought id ask the people in the know no. So because i have 23 posts i dont know what im talkin about, suppose that means you can explain variable turbo geometry becasue you have 16k? Aint gonna argue with a guy who thinks if he write's it, its gospel! Whos experimenting, they are a very good source of brake pads, and so is there lightweight flywheel and clutch that i have as well, and there group N exhaust aint too bad either...

One thing i did notice tho, as some one pointed out, the stearing as standard is pish poor on the cupra, need to get new adjustables. Mibbie some ARB's? Anyone know a good set up?
