personally, lowering for me is about improving handling, than just going as low as possible for looks purpose, although you may prefer it that way

without destroying the sump etc, I wouldnt go any lower than 60mm, but thats just my opinion....

hmm, I've been told 40mm is the lowest you can go on 205/40.17 without rubbing on arches full lock.. anyone lowered 40mm who can confirm? :)

I'm lowered much lower than 40mm (roughly a finger gap between tyre and arch) and i never rub on full lock, but I do rub occasionally on hard cornering - I'm on 205/40/17 tyres on 7.5J alloys.

Mine is roughly the same as George130. Lowered way more than 40mm, rubs over bigger bumps and during hard cornering, but no probs at all on full lock.

Mine scrubs on the back if i have 2 people in there, or 1 chubba haha its fine with just me in, or just me and passenger. Fronts rub on hard cornering if theres a slight bump. Think itl rub abit more when i get new tyres though :(

Cheers matey :)

Yeh i dont have the adjusters in either at the back but ive got 20mm spacers on each side, which is maybe why it rubs abit, theres just a little bit inside the arch that protrudes abit. Think ill file that down next time im off i think and see if it improves!

more proof you can deffos lower more than 40mm haha think people putting up standard pics and lowered ones is great proof

On a side note Damien, what discs are you running with your ap racing calipers, am i right in thinking tt discs are the same as mk4 cupra ones? After seeing the price of them from sere im tempted to hunt down a set of leon fr+ alloys and get a set with the ferodo ds pads and some nice grooved discs like yours!

I think most coilovers lower to around 75mm tops, my old one was lowered all the way on the back and minus one adjuster and 70mm on the front because of the sump...

Yep, the TT 312mm discs are the same. Thats what I'm running, drilled and grooved with DS2500 pads, and they nearly put you through the window when you stamp on them :D

I still have the adjuster cups in the rear and still have about 10-15mm of threads left too. Still got about 45mm to go on thr fronts too :)
