Nice one Benny, looks like I may need to re-order an LCR specific pump then :( Still waiting on a reply from TTS but Roly's check in ETKA doesn't sound promising

OK little update on the Pierburg pump I've got... I rang TTS but they couldn't provide any more information than I've already found on the net and advised I speak to Pierburg direct who I've now emailed.

Looking on their own website there's an e-catalogue you can search through which reveals some interesting points...

The pump I have has got a part number of 7.00468.84.0 which refers to:

Pierburg_2.png

This variant lists the Leon Cupra R 225 version in the online catalogue as a compatible model

If I search for the equivalent pump for an AYP/AQX engine I'm referred to 7.00468.86.0 which looks to be listed for much lesser powered cars in general (1.0's etc) so you would think that the pump I have is rated higher.

Now, here's where it gets confusing. If you search for a BAM engine you get listings for the S3, TT 20VT and LCR as you'd expect BUT the S3 and TT are listed as a different pump (fair enough - 4WD) but that matches the ETKA part # of the LCR pump?! (8L0 919 087J)

So...

1) The official LCR ETKA part # is listed as an S3/TT pump in Pierburg's catalog
2) Their version of the LCR pump is the one I have, and this appears to be rated higher than the standard AYP/AQX

It looks as though I may therefore have a 4 bar pump afterall but it's not too clear - I'm hoping Pierburg can confirm when they reply to my email - if not I'll give them a call. Such a ball ache :(

Right, had an email back from Pierburg in Germany to confirm:

Dear Sir,

the pump 7.00468.84.0 is designed as a 3 bar pump. But the pressure of the fuel system is stated through the pressure regulator.

That means that a fuel pump can be operated with different pressure.

With increasing the pressure you will decrease the flow rate of the pump and vice versa.

So it is possible that the 7.00468.84.0 is used in some cars with 4 bar pressure.

So this one is no good to me... (thanks also to Roly for checking the ETKA part #'s too)

Calling ECP this morning they quoted £190 inc VAT when I asked for 8L0 919 051 H, which they supply as a Pierburg pump

Are these the OE suppliers if you order direct from SEAT?

I may finally have an answer to the AUQ question :)

Just been round our forecourt and checked the pumps on 03 LC, 53 LC and 54 LCR

All 3 cars have the following part number fitted 8L0919051B (after checking this part number it superseeds to 8L0919051H, so from that i can only assume all AUQ's are fitted with a 4 bar pump from the factory)

Robbie

Not sure if will help but the OE pump is a VDO and the other number i found stamped on it was 228 233 016 002, i'm guessing this is possibly the VDO part number

Great stuff thanks Roly, which means that ECP is cheaper than the dealers but can't supply the OE pump. I've managed to wangle 5% discount off at my local dealers so will go with that and be safe in the knowledge I have the correct one I think
