yet another worrying noise

now then, when i go round a left hand corner, brake and acclerate hard i get a horrible knocking noise.
ive changed all the bushes like console ones, arb, droplinks.
i can sometimes feel it through the brake pedal
its happens quite alot but not everytime
the sound it makes is like a knocking
its starting to get worrying now so yer.
help me

When last did you clean them out?

about 8 months ago i think. one of the couplings had broken off that hold the pads back but i replaced that. maybe its pinged off again

Sounds like a CV joint to me, all the symtoms are there....

Are you sure that you are not talking about rear brake shoes? (and not pads)

If you have rear drum brakes then its the actuating levers that seize up, but I'd doubt if that would make noises like you are describing at the unique times you are hearing them - mind you, you might be locking up a rear wheel on braking and after the pedal is initially released - if the shoes are seizing - jack it up and see it feels like before and after applying the brakes - or check if the rear wheels are hot or warm after a run.

ive only just changed the cv joints so i hope it isnt them again haha

ill do what you said with the rear brakes today see what happens.

cos its rather driving me nuts now!

You ever get to the bottom of this, seems your car and ine have all the sames issues... mine is in garage now with a suspected new driveshaft!

yes i have and it was the cv joint. i just bought a cv joint off ebay and fitted that was proper good quality for the price too.

Just out of interest (again) how much would you be looking for supply and fitting of a CV joint?

I paid 30 quid for the joint off eBay and fitted it myself so I wouldn't know. Unless you meant me personally lol

I didn't lol. There is the inner and outer CV joint (thats what the garage told me) You replace both?

No just the outer cos the inner is still ok works out miles cheaper than another driveshaft
