Went out to the car this morning, pouring rain, jumped in the car and drove to work but stopped to fuel up on the way, when i went round to the petrol cap i noticed a dark patch on the rear bumper - further inspection shows that someone has 'scraped' it whilst parking behind me AND i can't remeber what car was parked behind me!! Paint is completely removed in parts - i'll post up some photos when i'm in a better mood. But really!!!!!! WHY do people do this, not even a note, surely you'd notice if this happened it's not like a wee tap or something it's down to the plastic in parts!! :censored: :censored: :censored:

Not a happy camper, but what can you do? now everytime i go out to the car i'll need to walk round it and check it (often do this at the weekend just to make sure it's ok) but now everytime i go out & i'll start checking other cars for traces of SEAT emocion red on their bumpers.

Know what you mean mate, which is why I always used to park as far as poss whenwe went shopping with no other cars around, but when we went back there would always be another car parked next to us.
Worst for me was last year when the missus was in hospital giving birth to our Ewan,I got the call to go in at 7-30 am,parked the car up,got back at 9-30 that night to find some low-life had keyed it...

I have every sympathy, I was in the correct lane Last Friday on a motorway roundabout and white van man decided he'd had enough of waiting, he zoomed round the inside (right hand) lane on the roundabout, turned sharp left accross the front of me (I had left the entry slip road clear) he clipped my front wing and bumper with the side of his van and drove off.

Stupidly I thought he would stop on the slip road but when I pulled forward to see if he had stopped he was just joining the motorway traffic :-o .....no way I could catch him up.

I didn't get a chance to get a number or name on the van either  new wing, bumper and light for me

Scary - it really makes you wonder WHAT makes someone actually WANT to do that. I'm the same, always park away from the shops, even when i park at the flat i always make sure there's plenty space for folk to park in front and behind but they STILL manage to f%ck it up!! [:@] [:@] [:@]

could try and repair but repairing plastuc is always a bit dodge as stress marks can show through paint if even slightly flexed!

Had someone do this to my car FFS,[:@]

Its not like I can even drive it at the moment as I've got a bust leg and some to[:@] [:@] er scratches the rear bumper because the cannot park for sh[:@] t.

It's about time it was made part of the driving test (parking in any space and not parking wonky, hitting anything, or taking more than 10 seconds to get into the space)

If they fail that they should have to take the bus, its not like its rocket science after all.

Sorry Rant over!

Welcome to the club gtt (the SeatCupra club that is) :D

Hmmm sorry to hear your story also gtt, thats poor....
" the owner of one heard the nosie but didnt bother looking because she said her car is a weck anyway"

I find it comical in the car with the other half, and she's going "theres a space... theres a space....." and I'm like... "nah, not enough room" or "nah, that car is parked over the line"....

"Ahhhh... here's a nice space" (on the opposite side of the car par)! ;)
And then she moans as she has to walk an extra 5 mins to get to the shops! haha. :funk:

I think this Thread could go on and on !! .....................

Sounds just like me!! i often do this too, even the gf has started being more selective where she's parks the car - although she doesn't appreciate it if it's raining and i park 'further away' - some folk don't worry where they park but i'd much rather park in a space i'm happy with and walk a wee bit further.

I didn't realise this had happened to so many people - it happened to my last car too, it was even broken in to - nowt stolen, but window smashed and EVERYTHING thrown all over the car - laugh of it is theres never anything of value in the car, a couple of CD's and that's it. The rest is just bit's and pieces, service manual etc.

It a shame that this has happened to so many people and what gets done about it................nowt!! Tax money well spent.

Gutted for ya mate... it's so gutting when someone damages it and runs..

tbh tho.. I did badly damage one of my cars and cause I was going so slow I didn't notice it.. altho I did it on a metal pillar I noticed it when I couldn't move anymore... Still not an excuse to leave it like that...

I recently observed a man park his car in a (big) disabled space, right in-front of the supermarket.

He then hobbled into the store and when he got in there, suddenly started walking normally again!!! :censored: [:@]

But looking at his car, i think he did it more due to being lazy, and not wanting to have to walk far to get into the store.

We get it a lot round our way... people in Merc's have this feeling that they are superior to everyone else and that D stands for dem! [:@]

Yeah that is one of my pet hates. People who park in Disabled spots who aren't entitled are just labelling themselves as lazy. I'm such a goodie two-shoes I don't even park in those spots in the middle of the night!!

Same here, some folk do it without a thought though - Tesco were issuing 'parking tickets' to customers who did it for a while but i haven't heard of it for a bit so i don't know if they still do or not.

BTW sorry about your car, that's cr*p. Not everyone in the world doesn't respect others property though. I recently had a minor scrape (very minor- not as bad as yours) in my car (my fault) but didn't realise that I'd actually scraped the car until I got home.. I'm reporting it to the police incase the person I scraped happens to have some damage, no doubt they'd unhappy campers too and I felt awful about it... I could have just left it.

seli_babe, that's probably cos I am 'your way' ;) :D (Herts/Beds).

That "D" is for them though, but it doesn't mean 'Disabled' lol
...you can also tell by the way they drive, and think they 'own' the road!

Ahhh, So that WAS your Punto with the babyseat in the prime parking space, in front of Waitrose the other evening? :p

LMAO.. hello ;)

Of course it was... When people look at me funny when I'm loading up the car I shout "Sugar.. I've lost my Child"... that soon makes everyone dissapear and I drive off.. lol
