I have just ordered a fr in candy white, options ,bluetooth, winter pack, convi pack, 18"alloys ,interior trim kit, wing mirrors to be painted black. But i rearly have liked the xenons but £870 seemed a little to much, but now i am dwelling on it, i have part xed my mk5 golf gttdi and they are having that next week so i will be without a car for 12weeks so i am thinking i should be able to save a good chunk towards them but are they worth it?.

i don't have them but imo they are too expensive an option, and as i am sure you are aware you don't get your money back on options when the time comes to sell up.

Can I ask why you are changing out a Golf Mk5 for a Leon and is it the tdi? Just asking, since so many people say the golf is much better quality. The Leon looks a million times better though!!

Near Reevo :)
Do you drive lots at night.

Is that on mostly lit city streets, or are you a country bumkin and have lots of unlit roads around you?

The golf is coming up to 2 1/2 years old now its running on 18" rims tyres need changing tax is due soon out of warranty so mots looming so i thought time to change. Not long brought the wife a ibiza dab so i had a good look at the leon and thought looks nice but the interior let it down,so over to audi a3 s-line 22k leon 16.5k .So on the seat website and bingo spec your seat they are now doing candy white so went and ordered one. VW/ Seat issue the golf was a great car but the interior was drab all light greys and made me feel like a granddad quality was ok but imho i think the seat looks better handles better, is faster the interior is at the best ok i can live with the seats and the clocks the bit i dislike most is the stereo section but all in all what a great package all the toys ect for under 17k so i can buy the seat without finance and i have never been able to do that befor. So with the xtra cash i will be saving i can see a few mods coming the first being changing that cd player, i noticed with the sat nav option you have a double din size opening, so i think i will order the sat nav dash section a put a new stereo in.

Xenons are a must have. Remember that you do not only get Xenons, you get also AFS with them. Read this:

The most notable of these are the bi-xenon headlights with Advanced Front Lighting System (AFS). This system blends the superior luminous power and quality that bi-xenon headlights are renowned for, with all of the benefits of AFS intelligent control.

The AFS system uses the information gleaned from various rotational and speed sensors in the vehicle to adjust the direction of the beam of light emitted by the headlights, resulting in optimum illumination in all situations. What's more, these headlights also automatically adjust the height of the beam as the vehicle load changes, doing away with the need for fiddly and less accurate manual adjustment.

These headlights are also made special by the fact that they are able to turn asymmetrically. In a right-hand bend, for instance, the headlight on the right will turn more sharply than its counterpart on the left (15 and 8 degrees respectively), allowing drivers to see the inside of the bend or the side road far more clearly while the left-hand headlight maintains optimum illumination of the area to the front of the vehicle.

The result: the road ahead is lit up to maximum effect, improving levels of visibility and, consequently, safety. The intelligent bi-xenon headlights with AFS expand the effectively illuminated zone when cornering by up to 30% and increase the distance at which objects ahead or cars in bends can be detected by as much as 68%: at a speed of 70 km/h, this would give drivers an extra 1.8 seconds to react.

I think you do get your money back a bit with Xenons becuase a lot of people want them now and will pay more for a car with them. I know I would. To me lights are like tyres, brakes and wipers....you never ever skimp on them and always make sure you have the best

It's an extremely good price!
AFS is unbelievable!
Much more good looking from the outside, the bi-xenon lamp is impressive on eye!
You get lamp washers too!
I wouldn't even think about ordering the car without em...

I have Xenons and I would order it again! Especially the AFS as said before is great! With my old car I was sometimes just driving into the darkness during corners and now you can see clearly what is coming.

I changed my order to include Xenons about 4 or 5 weeks after I placed my orginal order and it was accepted.

I would have loved to order xenons for my car... but in Denmark the price is around 1700£! - And as I do most of my nightdriving on well lit roads I thought it was a bit expensive...

But no doubt that xenon is superior...

I will definitely have Xenons on my next car. Have you considered an aftermarket mod?

It´s illegal to install aftermarket xenons in Denmark, unless you also install headlight washers and automatic height adjustment! - On a Leon that would be around 4250£...

Of course you can by some illegal (without automatic h. a. and washers) aftermarket kit of some kind for around 350£... but what I´ve seen so far cannot be compared to "The real Mccoy" in any way!

BTW: The new Cupra cost 36.400£ in Denmark... but it´s only a introduction price! - Later it will be 39.100£!

This is of course the price with no extra equipment at all, exept for dual-climatronic... :ban:

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the running costs and insurance are a best the same as in England... but normally higher in Denmark aswell!
