Would a faulty glow plug bring on the engine management light?

My engine management light came on the other day and today was the first day I could get my car put on a diagnostics machine. The fault found was with one of the glow plugs, so I've now ordered a new set of glow plugs.

Would a faulty glow plug bring on the engine management light?

I didn't think that it would, as I've changed faulty glow plugs before on a car and they hadn't brought on the engine management light.

Thanks for the help. I thought I'd better check on here just in case there was another fault that was somehow not picked up. :lol:

* No Pre-Glow Period
* Poor Cold Starting

Possible Causes

The diagnostics machine used told them it was cylinder 1 that was affected. So I know what one needs changed, but I'm going to change them all to save any hassle.

some may say lala land....
it will be the harness now
there is a long thread on this in the tdi section that covers this complete with guides and aprt numbers

1st time = change plugs
2nd time = change harness
never had an issue yet and i did the harness myself & garage the plugs.
