It does say in the add that the fronts are lower than the rears, personally I only go for equal height all round and so far haven't run into any problems.

And yes the 1.8T is a heavy beast, if it's got a turbo set up it's always a heavier lump. I'm fairly sure they do share the same springs just that that kit wasn't ideal.

Ok I'm hanging my head in shame.

I was always lead to believe that the deisels were heavier than the petrols and that's why you "can't get a diesel to handle like a petrol"

On personal experience I had (a few years ago) a cheap set of coilovers fitted to my cupra tdi and they were absolutely awful, they bottomed out all over the place at the front, the rear was fine and quite stiff but the fronts were pants, this kit was removed and put on a 20vt of my mates and the ride was completely different, it did bottom out every now and then if you weren't careful but no where as near as my deisel, I put this down to difference in engine weight but according to the above post I am wrong

This has just cleared something up for me though, I have in my garage all the front end suspension parts from a TT, all except shockers and arb links, I've been putting this off for around a year now because I was unsure of what to do, either weld a bracket onto my shocks for the arb (well dodgy) or buy some coilovers for an LCR but I really didn't want to lower the car at all due to speed humps where I live and as said above I thought the deisel lump was a lot heavier so would have been supported by standard LCR shocks

I think I'll be getting in touch with David at sere and order a pair of front standard LCR struts ASAP.
