Bit of a drama.. Went out on a first date with a girl the other day, car's been running perfectly well. Went to pick her up, got to her house, stopped for a quick drink at hers, then out to a pub. When she's sat there, ready to go.. car wouldn't start! Left it a few mins, tried again, nope. Few minutes more, and it fired up!

It turned, but wouldn't fire. This was Thurs night, then it's started fine 4 times since. Thought I'd take my shareware VAGCOM out tonight and see, and again it wouldn't start! Scanned it and left it. Went back out and it started OK, twice!

I only scanned it a week ago, nothing showed. I've now got 11 fault codes, I can't think ALL of these have gone at once, so can anyone shed any light on what it is that's stopping from starting on occasion?!

Battery connections nice and tight? Im no expert but it sounds like an earthing problem. Seems to be engine orintated. Is it worse in wet weather? wet/ damaged wires causing a short?
Is under the scuttle tray free draining? ECU sits under there and wont like standing in water

have you got a re-map? Where are you located?

Sounds like something similar to an issue i had. Changed my sps back to stock once and then it wouldnt start at all. had the AA guy come out, he couldnt sort it. Towed it to a local garage but they couldnt work it out. Got the box on it and had all the fuel injector fault codes and then some. Managed to start it once but died again as soon as i touched the accelerator. Got it on a wagon to Seat, they had it a week and they couldn't figure it out either and presumed it was an issue with the remap and put me in touch with a company that dealt with REVO just north of Newark called "Quattronics" . Now this guy knew his ****. (and had a tidy as f**k RS6.) Had the car 5 minutes and he got it started. turned out it was an immobiliser issue that needed re-setting. he did that and reprogrammed my remap for free. so impressed was i that i gave him the car for a week to give it a full service and a good going over with a fine toothed comb. now it goes like an absolute rocket and feels sturdier than ever before. went to see how he was getting on and it was nice to see that he did all the work...not the garage new kid that Seat would've used. As i said, took a load of arsing about by seat before they finally wiped their hands of it for it to be something as simple as that.

I might be way off but could be worth a call.
