Wiring in sub problem

Hello everybody.
Nice to meet you all.
Long story short, bought my first car which is my 1.6 2001 Leon and it's great. Happy days, so I thought I'd get a sub in it just to make it sound a little nicer, so I went onto eBay and bought a JBL '1000w' GT4 Series sub in a box with a **** amp. I spent the best part of 2 hours today trying to feed the sub power wire (4 guage) through the firewall but I can't see a place for it to go? There is the top right grovel where it seems most of the electrics run through which is tight and there is another one lower down and centre? Is that the one most people use? Because despite best efforts I can't locate it after I've put it through? Even with a coat hanger type thing.

Anyway, for now I've wired it into that live plate under the dash as it said to in this link (www .icecavern. com/howtos/ leonlowerdashtrim/main.php[/url]). Is this gona be OK? Or is it dangerous?

Cheers chaps

I've done mine the same way and it been ok for the past four years.....if it's not broke, don't try to fix it!!!! Or in your case, just leave be lol. I personal think for one amp and a sub this is fine, enjoy your chooonz :)

Cheers mate, yeah its hardly a huge power guzzling sub. The only thing is the wires leading up to the live plate may fail which would be costly to fix.

there is a grommet next to where the pollen filter is i punched a hole through that and it then pops out behind the glovebox so you have to take that out, only a couple of screws IIRC then just run it through the trim to the back :)

I've got the glovebox off but I can't see the grommet yet. Is that the pollen filter? All that black boxing stuff? And will I need to take that off?

I think when i did it there was a load of white sound proofing stuff that i had to pull back and the grommet is pretty far up. you can see it if you remove the pollen filter cover and the filter i think its near there somewhere

:confused:Christ. I'll have a go at it. Don't wanna piss around with the wiring too much in case it goes back in the wrong place or doesn't Clip back on etc:lol:

There is a gromet behind the glovebox. I have ran the wiring for my sub though it as well as the loom for the air ride.
If you remove the relay box off the firewall and have a look around below it to the right you'll see it... looks like a rubber nipple.
