Wiper Relay

Hi,

I've just purchased a hella Raintronic for VW/AUDI off e-bay. When trying to fit it I have struggled to find the wiper relay. Does anyone know where I can find it?

I did find one relay which prevented the wipers working when unplugged (behind dash above pedals) but it had a different "prong" arrangement to the Hella one which came with the Raintronic.

All help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Oh no!!!

That's why I couldn't find it then.

Thanks - I'll have a look tonight.

built into hazard switch in dash!

What?

The hazard light and indicator relay is built into the hazard switch in the middle of the dashboard.

The wiper relays (front and back) are on the relay panel under the fusebox. Have a look at the cruise control fitting instructions (or the Golf Mk4 Haynes) from photos of how to get at it.

Simon.

I didn't think it made much sense.

I did find a relay on the relay panel behind the dash but it only had for connections on it. It didn't seem to be the relay which is responsible for the "intermittent" feature which is what the Hella instructions tell me to replace with their own relay, which plugs into the rain sensor.

The incorrect relay which I mentioned (the one that stops the wipers working but doesn't actually control the intermittent feature) is in the picture. It is the one with 100 written on it.

I'm wondering if there is another which controls the intermittent delay and the speed of the wipers. The one in the diagram (100) is just a simple relay that I assume is to switch a higher current than the one flowing through the switch.
