Wiper clunk

My wipers have just started clunking nearly every time they park (ie when you turn them completely off and they tuck themselves away) - they seem to make a very audible clunk as if they're belting off the inner lip. Doesn't happen every time but certainly almost every time. Only started happening yesterday... Is this common? And ideas or should I just mosey back to the dealers (again!)?

How many miles are on the wipers? Maybe the rubber has just hardened, and need replaced? Turn them on and get out and look at them see where they are contacting otherwise?

I'm not sure it's the rubber - they clear the screen without issue - it more seems to be the mechanism that tucks the wpers away when switched off, as if it's hitting the side of the windscreen lip...

youve probably never noticed it before but when you turn them off and they go to the park position they will flick back about 2mm so the rubber on the blades is facing in the correct direction. this could be your noise, like as said in an above post the rubber could have gone off and this noise is now been exagerated
