Apologies if this doesn't quite make sense.

I want to remove the rubber trim that runs down the side of the front windscreen and seals the gap between the A pillar and the screen itself.

Has anyone done this? Is it a case of just pulling the old one off and clipping the new one on.

I need to do this as it seems that it is the nearside one that is the cause of excessive wind noise.

Be careful , as a piece of advice take it into a windscreen specialist and ask them to have a look they will proably be able to sort out ur wind noise , i cant see it being the trim thats causing the wind noise , it wil be a defect in the bond . if u start D I Y 'ing u may knacker ur screen then have to pay out to get it replaced ...:)

If it is the two plastic strips that run from the top to bottom of the A post, you wont harm the screen at all taking them off, they are just finishing strips, but i can tell you that you will break the clips that hold them on, they are a right pain in the ar$e, having had a few off in my time lol!!

OK took the trim off with no breakages. It simply slides towards the top of the car and pulls off with no strain on the clips. So all good. Had a drive with it off and had no noise. Definitely the issue. I have put it back on and it looks better positioned/fitted.

Off for another drive now to see if it has worked or if I need a new part.
