OK the missus has a 1.2S '04 Beezer and it has manual aircon rather than climate control, recently she has complained that the heater takes 3-4mins to clear the windscreen.

She says the aircon snowflake is on (so it's not the old aircon slipping off when it's really cold).

Now I admit the car would demist quicker if she was moving but she says there is too much condensation.

Is it worth me renting a commercial dehumidifier and sucking the moisture out of the car????? is this a common problem on the Beezers

i know on the diesels the heater doesnt work till the engine is getting warm , it recirculates the coolant around the engine instead of the heater matrix , or something like that , pain in the A55

Thanks guys......me thinks the wifey will be less than delighted that the answer is keeping 5 yards of kitchen roll in the car ;)
I always found, the more contact you have with the glass the worse the issues get. I can't stand people wiping their sleeves on the windows or clearing it with their hands. I give them a good clean with ClearVue (I think that's what it's called by TurtleWax) and that seems to work on the rest of the glass pretty well.

Didn't rain-x make some kind of anti fog stuff? I think it came in a pink bottle or something.. :gay:

RainX do have an internal anti fog solution and it sucks. Buy something like Autoglym glass cleaner, the cream not the spray, and give a good clean with that. Should help.

Are you sure the snowflake only comes on if the compressor is working - or is it just controlled by the aircon control ?

I've noticed the external temp sensor on my car under-reads by about 3ºc; if the aircon takes it's readings from the same sensor, it'll disable itself when it doesn't need to. IE if the aircon should shut off at 4ºc, on mine it wouldn't work below 7ºc.

I keep a plastic watering can in the back of the car. Fill it up with water from the cold tap and poor it over all the glassware. This does two things: it melts the frost on the outside and removes the mist from the inside. Don't be tempted to use warm water though, in case you crack your windscreen!

The best bet for anti fog stuff is to speek to a motorbike factors as they stock the sprays for inside helmits.
