right this is quite hard to explain

when i pull off there is a grinding / squeak sound, it's intermittent, but regularly, and gets faster the faster i go. When i put my foot down on the clutch the noise disappears, but it also disappears when i turn left. When i turn right it gets much worse

is this the wheel bearing?

any help or enlightenment would be great
Cheers
Chris

that's what i was thinking, but when i slow down to a standstill still in gear i hear a slow grinding noise, not permanent, it's on and off, like when something is out of line?

really hard to explain

i was tempted to say, that'll be the charger lol...

but yeh sounds like bearing to me, depressing the clutch takes the load off the driveshafts/bearings and so the noise goes...
Turning a corner loads up the outside wheel, so if it gets worse turning right, then that would indicate the left front bearing..

( i think i got it the right way round, if someone can back me up :) )

Edit, read the last post, does it happen at standstill? or cruising to a standstill... if it happens not moving maybe its gearbox related?

i reckon it's the wheel bearing, which is a *******, gotta do my brakes anyway lol

anybody know where to get a bearing press from? or is it better to take the whole lot apart and take it to somewhere with a press (i have a run around car if this is the case)
