Why is VW/Seat Customer Service SO bad?!

I didn't realise they were franchises - i guess that sort of explains it then.

At my local VW one it depends who you talk to, some of the people are pretty good but most aren't. The Seat garages I've been to are both awful though, they just don't seem to want to help support the cars after they've made the sale [:@]

Well I guess, to be fair, I am mostly talking about the parts department as I don't use the service department. But I have heard the service guys on the phone while I'm waiting for parts and some of the stuff I hear is scary....

I'm probably unlucky with the places near me. I know there are real enthusiasts working at some places, there was a Seat technician on this forum that someone put in contact with a couple of years ago who was the dogs danglies but last time I mailed him he had left the company....

my local seat and VW garages are both awesome, one time the guy even said "what car you got?" i told him and he wanted to look at it, he said "i wanted one of these a few years back" and then told me mine looked really nice

Its all franchises in general, i work for peugeot and our service department is run by a bunch of idiots, the manager got done for warranty fraud in his last job!!! The workshop controller doesn't know his arse from his ear either

Having said that the other departments are all run really well, I think it really does depend on who is in charge of specific departments
