Why is the FR TDI lighter than the Fabia VRS

I am thinking of changing my car to either an Ibiza FR TDI or Fabia VRS. I was having a look at the specs of both cars and the 5 door Ibiza has a kerb weight of 1180Kg and the VRS has a kerb weight of 1315Kg. Why is there such a big difference?

pretty sure the kerb weight you quote for the FR tdi is wrong, i thought it was 1249 for 3 door so 5 dr must be a little heavier than that.

1180 for 3 door and 1205 for 5 door mate, fabia is about 1249, my dad has one, I have Ibiza Sport TDI
