I dont think that pre-facelift leons are ugly at all... they are quite good looking cars... with their 'chisseled' good looks.... i dont like gettin the kits from the diferent models... if you got an LCR then fine.... but if you got a prefacelift durv.... then why try n make it something its not??? like wen people get a 318 or similar and put a full M3 kit on it???.... im not a fan of the whole replica thing IMO....each to his own tho....i would never get a facelift cupra kit or LCR kit for mine... im proud to have a pre-facelift LC:D ....

Pre-facelift FTW!!!!:D

I see wot u mean, and i totally agree with u about makin a car wot it isn't my car is the 20vt model chances r if it were a derv i wouldn ave put the kit on. On the otherhand it was the cheaper option as Faisel commented rather than buyin a cupra r. I mean with the 2nd kid on the way there just wasn't anyway of justifyin goin out and blowin 6-7K on a cupra R which is the same car as i got only with 45bhp more and different bumpers and a set of skirts. I could gain the extra bhp with a re-map and induction kit (I think) and the mrs need not know LOL :) whereas if i bought a new cupra she'd realise there aint as much money in my wallet anymore LOL.

at the end of the day its best to buy a car with as low milege as possible....cause the car will last you longer and less will go wrong with it... also it will be easier to sell on..... i mean if you buy a car with say 80k... in a couple years that could be pushing well over 100k..... and in another two years... 120-130k maybe...... and cars with 100k + ... ive personally found hard to shift....... IMO

i bought my LCR on 89k got it cheap but now im paying the price, ive had it 6 since april its had new turbo 2 months ago, now last week the engine was takin out as there was a knocking coming from the engine, ended up being at some point in its life the water pump was broke an the engine got so hot its shrunk the pistons, so the engine needs rebuilding fron scratch an on top of that it needs new clutch, new exhaust mainfold gaskets etc

What you are really trying to say is don't buy a "poorly looked after LCR"

:)

Mileage has nothing to do with it. We bought a punto with 28000 miles on the clock. It was a dog....real lemon coz previous owners were probably old dear's who took it to joe the con to get it "ahem serviced"

My LCR has high mileage but has been regularly serviced by an official seat dealer and in the the 4 months ive had its been as tight as a drum.

Mileage has something to do with it, as does luck, some cars are made worse than others it just depends on how the people were feeling the day they put it together.

I would say a leon is a better looking skin on top of a golf/a3, as well as being cheaper which is a plus!

Someone mentioned above about asking mates etc about cars, and people saying 'oh golfs are good cars'... I say let them keep saying that! I like the fact that the leon is a bit more exclusive than a golf and that when I see one, its most likely that its because the driver is pretty clued up about cars and not just any old numpty who knows golfs are good cars and popular becuase of it.

Well I've just sold this

and bought a LC TDI150, in black of course... and I don't think the Leon is ugly! Not quite like my old car  but much better on fuel and still quite exclusive. I do seem to have seen more of them in the last week than over the last year though - sure thats always the way when you get a new car. Also been looking into modding for the first time in 6 years, I kept my RX-7 standard!

the comment that was posted earlier about the LCR still not looking dated was very true, if you put some super duper warts and all technology gubbins in it the looks alone would shift very swiftly even in 2008....dont forget that agressive LCR face is nearly 7 years old and its still more harder looking than anything else hot hatch wise these days (except maybe the R26)....
