As per question.
Got to work nights tonight, but going straight from work to collect my car, after having a quick stop at sainsburys for breakfast.

So any one else collecting?

First impressions? :)

Quite frankly: P!ssed off.

The car it's self is very nice to drive, handles well and feels like it has plenty of power although not gone above 2.5k yet.

Reason for being pee'd off is due to the condition of the car on collection.
This is a list of issues I have made:

Offside rear bumper: 4-5 inch scratch

Nearside ¼ panel (close to roof): 4 inch scratch

Rear tailgate (centre): 2-3 light scuff marks

Nearside passenger’s door: Glue/adhesive around the door handle

Bonnet (close to window): Very deep scratch that can be felt with finger nail and appears to be down to the metal.

Offside rear quarter panel near wheel arch: Small scratch (1cm) down to the metal.

Nearside front bonnet: 2 inch scratch

Front bumper/bonnet: Glue/adhesive

Nearside interior rear curtain airbag cover has been forced on as it’s broke and keeps falling out.

Offside Cupra Badge on pillar not straight

Offside wing mirror housing is not fit properly and is also smashed were it has been forced into place. This also makes a very annoying wing noise within the car.

Small mark on the centre console which has cut the plastic.

Nearside front alloy wheel has been curbed: 1 inch of damage.

Now, It's no BMW of Merc but I do not feel this makes the above acceptable. Most of the marks will polish out although some are down to the metal, but even still considering it's suppose to have been cleaned and valeted it has more marks on it than the 4 yr old Yaris we got rid off.

Another thing, car came with only 6 months tax due to the discount I apparently got on the car. At no point did I agree to this and Seat advertise on their website & brochures that 12 months is standard.

I won't name dealer as I will give them a chance to resolve the issues before taking it higher or rejecting the car.

Love the looks of it and want to keep it but I am so annoyed I'm very close to rejecting it and may seek further advice tomorrow.

I would have left the car at the dealership having rejected it outright [:@]

The only problem with my 07 FR TDi I discovered was some loose trim around the pedal box which I fixed (and other issues related to not being taken out of transport mode properly). One or two other bit and pieces, but easily sorted out myself.

Yes, it does seem common for dealers for give only 6 months road tax as opposed to 12, when there's a price discount. I get it extended to 12 and pay the difference (save a bit).

Not a good advert for Seat or the dealer!:(

As far as I was aware Seat advertise the car with 12 months road tax. Had I known they would half it I would have gone for more discount. Might only be £60 but they matched a price I got else where which would have provided the 12 months RFL so i assumed this would be the case.

Either way I'll take it higher if necessary ;)

Just been out in the car, now clocked up about 125 miles in total and liking it :)
Can't wait to test out the power but it feels very quick off the mark, all the controls (steering, accelerator etc) are all nice and light and very sensitive which is totally the opposite of the Impreza. Looking forward to running the tyres in a little more and testing it on corners more!! [B)]

why the hell did you accept the car? Should have given the keys back, asked for the salesman's car until it's fixed.

All the scratchs except 2 have now gone, they did them while we waited. All glue was also removed. Basically it seems like the car was not cleaned or polished.

Other issues should be easily resolved, new alloy, heat Cupra badge and twist it slightly etc.

See what happens, i expect at least the first service done for free for the hassle and all issues resolved.

These should have been sorted out at the pre-delivery check. The valeter should be embarrassed. Must think buyers just jump in, drive off and ignore any faults that might be there.

And the inconvenience of having to take it back the following day.

They want to refurb the alloy but we want a new one, are we being too picky??
I recently had the Impreza's alloys refurbed by SEM in Sunderland who did a damn good job, but I feel a new car should be new, not having parts resprayed.

New car new alloys mate, stick to your guns.
Oh & if you insist on a new alloy, make sure
they don't just swap it for the spare! :censored:

Reject the car back at them & tell SEAT UK.
Seriously, it's you new toy and someone else
has already made it an unpleasant experience!

I know it is tough but if mine had been offered to me
new 6 months ago in the state you describe I would
have cancelled there and then but I am a miserable
old git with no patience.

Sh*te service should not be tollerated. [:@]

Good luck, be firm!!

No, ask for a new one. Chances are it'll never match the other three anyway.
That's just the dealer trying to cut corners and save money.
You could always keep the other wheel for a spare! ;) Or sell it!
