Anything above 55W is illegal. Also, 100W bulbs burn at a higher temperature so there is a risk they could cause damage to the headlight reflector.

Looks like what I am after.

Are they the 55W or 100W version.

Anyone see any issues with me using 100W headlight bulbs?
Are these too bright/illegal??

These are the 55W and they are fine although not done much night driving yet.

Since the Leon has got cornering fogs I'm going to buy some super white mtecs for the fogs as well.

O they are bright

Ok in a set of driving lights if you're off roading or the highbeams of certain vehicles if the wiring is able to handle them

But in your car you will most likly in time overload the wiring or fuse the switch contacts together
As at 100w you are drawing almost twice the amps through the wiring etc

Drls?

Thanks for the advice

Post up some pics of the fogs when you get them.

What about the DRL's? I assume you have also upgraded your DRL's and if so what have you got and can you post some pics and links.

I am just about to upgrade all my Leon bulbs so looking for some advice and comparisons before I buy.

The DRLs are causing some issues for me.

I haven't been able to find any decent halogen DRL white bulbs which means jumping to LED.

Jumping to LED means it's going to flag up errors. You can buy inline resistors which are just plug and play but these don't fit the Leon and splicing cables it out of the question for me.

Only other option I think would be to get some of the high powerful Cree LEDs which hopefully won't flag up errors but at £35 a pop I'm not doing that just yet.

I can live with yellow DRLs for the mo as when dipped beam is on DRLs are off.

Will post up pics when fogs are done.

Will also try get some head on ones of the car tonight so you can see the beam on the floor. Should give better colour than on a white garage.

I agree. I have been looking at the Cree Canbus LED DRLS (P21W I believe) ranging from £20-£35.

They seem to range from £17-£35 and 350-800 lumens.

Yep

Seen those.

They look to be the best from my research.

Just need to be prepared for the cost. These are pricey but I guess you get what you pay for.

The Ali express ones are similar and more like £17 a pair but can take a few weeks for delivery.

Well if you bite the bullet before me then let me know if they're any good.

I will get some eventually just when I've got more funds as I'm upgrading interior LEDs too.

The sidelight are the "DRL's".

It looks like a suitable upgrade would be the Cree Canbus 50w Led. I am looking at ordering these when I have a few more pennies. ranging from £17 - £35 a pair depending on whether I order from china or ebay.
