white/blue smoke

Hi,

I have a Leon Mk1 FR and yesterday noticed some white/blue smoke when I accelerated, not noticed it before. I havent run the car very far in the last few weeks, just down to the local shops and wasnt sure if it was partly to do with it sat on the drive alot or whether it could be seals leaking or the crank breather filter which I have heard can make a diesel smoke. Its not smoking alot but would rather sort it sooner rather than later.

Any ideas on where I should start looking first?

These are always toughies. My Leon does like to smoke rolling on and off the throttle. It does also smoke when it's cold even during the summer. I have yet to find out what it is despite a couple of postings on here, a bit of research and a chat to those that may know. There's a lot of it 'could be this it or could be that'. A bit too ambiguous for me.

My smoke problem does seem to be getting worseof the last 18 months. I should like to add that its not that bad I'm very conscious of it.

I have noticed that it only seems to smoke in forth and fifth gear. Not sure if its the aerodynamics and the speed which allows me to notice it in the rear view mirror.

Is a strange one.
