Whistling and smoke

I have a 2008 cr tdi 170, it’s started to whistle when accelerating which sound like a turbo, also under load I have smoke every now and again.

Don't think the CR 170 was available in 2008, you should have a PD 170 at that age.

Have you checked a boost pipe has not split or fallen off? Otherwise yea, it sounds like the Turbo is done.

Sorry I meant it’s a 2009, and no not yet that’s my job for tomorrow is to have a look under the bonnet but thought I’ll get a few ideas before hand.
