Which tyres to buy?

People i need your help. I've been looking to get some new tyres on my LC, i've looked at loads of different reviews on quiet a few different tyres and i'm so undecided. Looked at the Vredestein ultrac sessanta and they looked good but according to customer reviews they get unsettled by white lines and rough roads so me travelling on the M25 almost every weekend makes me think there a bit of a no go. Toyo T1R's seem good but then mixed reviews about the soft tyre wall and that there better suited to lighter cars and the wear rate compared to others seem quiet high too. Falken 452's look good and seen many good things about them but once again soft tyre wall so need to play with tyre pressures which will affect wear rate and when they break away they don't give much warning and the reviewer said there ideal if you like drifting not sure what to take from that but it doesn't give me much confidence in them and wanting to go round corners normally not sideways. I want a tyre that has an overall good perfomance from grip, wear rate and price, any help and tyre choices and opinions would much appreciated. cheers.

Think I've seen the Falken review you're on about, they are testing them on a 350z which is a bit of a different animal to a Leon so I wouldn't right them off on the strength of this one review:

I'm surprised about the soft wall comment, I don't think many people (and there are a few) on here who use them (myself included) have commented on this, the 2 pairs I've had are XL (Extra Load) rated and I haven't had any issues, mind you I'm sure I don't drive to the absolute limit but I still push it now and then!

Needless to say there's shedloads of tyre threads on here, have a large mug of coffee and get searching.

I have Vredenstein Sportrac 3 on the rear (dad has em all round on a Saab 9-5) and never any problems with rough roads or white lines and I do alot of mway driving. They were simply fantastic down in cornwall as they grip with conviction. Much better than the Michelins they replaced! Can't wait for the front Michys to wear down so I can replace them with some Sportrac 3s!

FK452s are highly recommended on briskoda for the Octy vRS mk1 and 2 so would do well on the Leon

BTW Vredenstein Sportrac 3s came 2nd in the AutoExpress tyre test and the Ultracs came first in the Evo group test

Kumho Ecsta SPT seems to get a decent review from what ive read. I have them on my car, it far from a perfromance motor but ive 22k miles done on them now and i would buy them again.
They are nearing the end now though. So a heavier car might wear them quicker than 20k miles.

Michellin Pilot Sport are the best i've had! Just as good as eagles in the wet!

I have Kuhmo Ecsta'a on the front and Yokahama Pradas on the rear.

Kumhos are reasonably priced and have good grip in dry and wet weather.

Pradas and expensive and are excellent in the dry and ok in the wet.

Have you heard of a tyre called Sumitomo. I never heard of them b4 and gave them a try after a read a review on them. They are base on a the goodyear F1's. I got them on a set of 19's and it one of the best all round tyre i ever bought!! My mate has done 13k miles on his leon and still loads of tread left.

Yep, and it doesn't show there but what impressed me the most was the fact that the F1s were great in both the wet and dry - which to me makes them the no brainer...
