Hi guys,

I know this subject has probably been covered a thousand times, but what after market speakers do you have or recommend.

I've ordered the autolead adapters but cant decide which speakers to buy. I'm replacing all 4

I'm after a bit more bass than the standard ones can handle from the standard head unit, but not sure if i'm gonna get a FLI sub as yet.

Do I need 2way, 3 way or components?

I want to spend no more than about £200 on them.

Cheers for looking and all advice is appreciated

The ones I'm planning on getting are the Alpine SPR-17S components.. I'm not going to bother with 3 way as that would need an extra mounting position, just going to stick to 2 way. Am going to leave the back ones and just replace the front ones for now too.

Think they come in at around £120 for a pair.

Ive got a sub and amp for sale (click on my signiture), £100 for kit that costs over £400 new!

It all depends on how much you are willing to pay. On a £200 budget, get alpines which come in at £99 a pair.

My experience of after market speakers in the MK2 was that they gave less bass than the standard speakers, and I bought ones recommended in the guide in the faq. I've since removed them and put the standard ones back in, and sound is much better (the RNS510 may be responsible for some of that though). Changing speakers is probably worth it if you're putting a sub in though, due to the fact bass is not important from them any more.

To be honest, the biggest improvement came when I removed the aluminium trim kit as it rattled and vibrated at the sign of any bass.
