I have an unmodified LCR225 and looking at fitting an induction kit - what do people recommend and what sort of upgrades would you fit alongside this without spending over 400 quid?
mate, not being funny but you really have to search, cos some peeps on here will have a go lol...
tbh my advice is if you want cheap get a open cone (green or jetex) with a cold air feed. But if you want a proper induction kit, i think the 2 best ones at the moment are the dynatwist or jabbasport one. Both tend to be round the £200 mark.
if your budget is 400 notes here are some cheap mods which should be noticeable...
1. N249 bypass (£10 all in and 10 minutes fitting) slightly better throttle response
2. dog bone mount bush £30 (helps with off the line traction)
3. 007p recirculating valve bit pricy at around £100 but good upgrade
4. short shift kit (around £120 all in (side to side/front back)
well what i would do if i was you. jetex airfilter £50. second hand forge007p dumpvalve £50-60. remap from £250.
the first and most important mods are the dumpvalve and filter, thats the starting point. then you can move onto a remap, decat and catback. but if i was you get the first 2 mods, then the exhaust system, then move onto remaps later on.
I am currently running a standardish lcr225 with no real engine mods and thinking about some new induction. i currently have the standard air box with a performance filter. Is there any recommendations people can make, what works best:
jetex,cda,green cotton, k&n etc.
cheers
I've been looking around for a new induction kit for my LCR. There's a lot of good advice on here and the Jabba set up seems good but does it warrent spending £200+? Is there any other set up similar that I can run with a heat shield, direct replacement and that wont confuse the MAF? Links would be good cheers!
Source the bits seperate, mostly from Bill' Badger 5, works out cheaper then buy a heat shield, click my build thread for info, others will also say P-flo kit by neuspeed, im not a fan and around £180, or smoothed airbox with green panel filter
Yeh my apologies for starting a new thread but just wanted to be sure. Just read through your thread and it was really helpful and just what I needed. Cheers dude.
^ did this on my last Leon Cupra TDI, went my current route with my current Cupra and would not look back to be honest, cant beat the sound etc, and the way it pulls high through the revs
