as above, everytime i start the car it flashes a few times then goes off, people just say there is nothing to worry about as its no red but just wondering as havent seen it before....

I have the same problem and i'm still not sure what it is. There doesn't seem to be a definite answer anywhere but my feeling is it's warning of a problem with a sensor, oil pressure possibly? rather than an actual warning of low oil pressure or level as I would expect this to be a "stop the damn car now" kinda warning. Even so i'm gonna get mine looked at and see if it's logged a fault code. If I get it done soon I will post up my findings.

It's oil pressure warning it does say it in the Manule
When I had this it was the oil pick up!! It was blocked and full of gunk and **** there common on these cars wip off the sump take the pick up off and clean it with fuel give the sump a good clean to aswel if its not the pick up then you need a compression test asap
That what mine was anyway if you keep running it then say bye bye to the head

oil light flashes yellow for about 3-4secs then goes off.
Has anyone got an answer for this dam oil light flashing yellow for approx 3-4 secs before i start the engine?! it doesnt always do it just now and again,it only flashes before i start the engine.HELP! no strange noises or overheating of engine etc.temp is normal and car running fine.

lamp will flash several times.
From the moment of the defect to the
check-up of the engine the oil level needs
to be checked regularly, preferably when
filling the tank.
I do not get an acoustic sound warning, just flashes for few secs then goes off. got to be an intermittent oil level sensor fault.
