Unusually I may be one of the lucky ones! Got an email from Nationwide yesterday to say my VZ1 Hybrid is expected at the dealer in 2 weeks time (ordered in Sept)... If I'd heard of the delays (2023/24) last week I probably would have cancelled at that point.
I take it back.... 24hrs later and delivery has pushed back 2 weeks..... Guess I'll get it when I get it!

I have had a fairly major issue on my car that shouldn't really happen on a brand new car, and been without it for three weeks, which I will post about once I have the car back and the matter fully resolved. However, when you say about building a brand reputation, I don't think they give a flying f**k about their reputation. Their customer service has been absolutely shocking, so much so that I have an official complaint with Cupra. Even my dealer is disgusted with the way I've been treated by them. When I have spoken to them and said that if they are trying to separate themselves from SEAT and be a more prestigious brand, they are going the wrong way about it as their service is shocking and as a previous BMW customer for my last five cars, they should take a leaf out of their book for customer service, I get a reply of stony silence.

Yep... as my original VZ3 order with beats and 360 cameras was postponed to be built in December I agreed to take another car which was available in the dealership. Same car just without the options I mentioned. Not ideal but decided to go for it because who knows what is going to happen until December. First of all they gave me collection date in almost 3 weeks despite the car was with them already. On the day I was driving towards the dealership when I received a call saying someone took the car out for some petrol and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree...

When I arrived they told me that it was transport mode left on and the car is fine but when I sat in the vehicle the check engine went on again... The car was on 35 miles already because they did road test after the morning problems and would need at least another 30 after the repair which appeared to be a throttle body problem. I was about to get a car done more than 60 miles with an engine repair and they said they can only apologize... I didn`t take that and now I am waiting for my original order which was given provisional build week 27 which is not too bad. Just hoping that this will be conformed soon...

So yes... in terms of building up reputation they are not doing great at the moment... but there is simply no better bargain on the market so I guess we will have to put up with that...

Have just had a further call today from the Leasing company to say that the car we ordered has been put on long-term hold, with no dates for manufacture for the next 16 months. I called the franchise dealer to see what they might know and they confirmed all hybrid Cupra models are on hold until 2023/24.

If this all turns out to be true, guess we won't be getting a Cupra after all then. Sad times. Not great for building a brand reputation.
I contacted my works leasing company this morning (Lex Autolease), I have ordered a plug-in hybrid due to the tax benefits and they are saying that they are not aware of any further delays.
Order at the end of Feb this year and have been given a delivery date of the end of March '23. Hopefully this is the case.

Ordered Formentor 1.4 V2 Hybrid 204 with Nationwidevehiclecontracts (NWC) on 26th October 2021, given delivery date of Late Feb/Early March 🙃

Had similar unconfirmed build dates to everyone here. Rang them today and now they are saying there's no build date at all even unconfirmed, "Status 0".

They can't give an update at all, and if I didn't ring them I don't think I would have heard anything since I placed the order in October. I have managed to get an SLI number from them, but I'm not sure what dealer NWC have used for this. I'll try and find this out when I call next!

I was picking up my car from the dealer yesterday, and they were telling me that all hybrid Cupra models have been put on hold with an estimated delivery of late 2023/early 2024.

Early 2024 😂. Who on Earth is going to place an order for a car to be delivered in nearly 24 months time. Thought on the plus side, they might have sorted out the infotainment system by then.

Hi, I.m really pleased to have found this forum. I live in Portugal and have had a Formentor hybrid on order since December, but as seems usual, the dealer cannot give me any indication of build or delivery status. I have seen the recent posts about potential delays until 2023, but again my dealer says they know nothing about this. I have just called the Cupra "Head Office" in the UK to see what they say about the delays, and was totally stonewalled, they said I had to deal through the dealer. It seemed to me that if there are these delays they are not prepared to admit it! Anyway, I will continue to follow the forum and keep my fingers X'd.

Update, had a call from the dealer yesterday saying that the factory has accepted her order….
Mine was ordered, and accepted beginning of March (V2, Mag Tec grey, petrol blue interior no extras) and accepted pretty much same time, all I have is an unconfirmed build date sometime in May, I know we live in strange times right now but it doesn’t help with a distinct lack of information from Cupra or dealerships

I agree, luckily my missus is pretty cool about it and in no rush

Ordered Oct 2021, original build date March, was pushed back to to end of June. Spoke to nationwide today who in turn spoke to Cupra who advised that VZ1/2 hybrids are in production, date pushed slightly to 2nd week of July but they said don’t expect our date to be pushed out any further (here’s hoping!)

We have ordered VZ1 hybrid magnetic tech grey, no extras.

I see lots of comments about the ho!d ups and delays with the Hybrid models, but what is the current state with V2 petrol models?
I didn't for one minute expect my car on the date originally given but, after two months all I have is an unconfirmed build date of mid May, whilst I'm prepared to wait a while longer I'm NOT prepared to wait until next year and the dealer is aware of this.

I can comment on the V2 petrol model, but I ordered a VZ2 petrol in cammo green with no extras in early January. My dealer confirmed it is in transit and estimated about 5-6 weeks for me to collect it. He said the petrol versions were slowly getting back to more normal manufacturing times. However, he confirmed that hybrids were off the table as there are several parts they use that are made in Ukraine. I imagine someone further up the food chain is sourcing another manufacturer. I didn't add any extras on mine (would have like the Beats), but all of these add ons seem to add to the time to build. I'm content to have a unique colour and an engine that runs like stink for my final fling with petrol.

As an aside, I was looking at the Kia EV6 and had a test drive in one. Nice car, but even though electrics are improving, it still felt like I was driving a brick round corners. Straight line acceleration is really nice, but corners not so much and I felt every pothole. I was told if I order one, lead time is about 10-12 months depending on model/extras and so on.

Can't wait for mine now and I'm content I made the right decision on sticking with the Formentor - amazing looking cars!

Ordered a Cupra Ateca VZ1 via UK Car Line last October. The car was built late April but has been 'Awaiting Shipping' since then. I speak to the dealership once a week for an update but it's not changed since it went to awaiting shipping. How do you all find out which ship the cars end up on and the destination port etc?

I originally ordered in November and in common with many of you, the build date has slipped several times. I'm checking in with my dealer every couple of weeks. Latest is still status 10 (unconfirmed) build week 24. Probing a bit deeper, I was told that their last hybrid delivery was in March, from a September order. Allegedly I am now front of the queue with that dealer, as all the others are week 36. No clue if that's BS.

Hi Graeme,

There seems to be an information black hole from the ‘awaiting shipping’ to arrival in the UK. The next notification will probably be that the car is in the UK
