When did you order, when is it arriving?

Hi Everyone! I gave a deposit on the 19th of January for a CUPRA Formentor 1.4TSI PHEV - Desire Red and they gave me a delivery time of 8 MONTHS to be delivered to Malta! Hopefully it will arrive earlier.. will see.. What is the longest wait you all experienced? My previous car I have I had to wait 4 Months, but it wasn't during COVID or there wasn't any need of SemiConductors Chips;

I bought at the end of October( the car had been on order since start of September), original delivery date was 16th December and 3 times delivery was delayed, I believe the car wasn't built when I cancelled on Sunday

Oh wow, I've heard that Hyundai/Kia were doing a bit better as they make their own chips. Looks like massive delays for all manufactures!

Hi Clive, I have ordered a VZ1 245TSI in Magnetic Grey on the 1st June two weeks ago I got told I finally have a confirmed build slot in week 5 i.e. next week. It's looking like it will arrive some time in March if there are no delays whilst getting built. So its looking like for me it'll be between 9-10 months from order to delivery

Oh wow! Ok so, I should set my mind to 9/10months! Thats too much!! My fault didn’t buy the one from the store!

I went to look at Hyundai and Kia but the Cupra was my love at first sight!

Hopefully things will improve this year! It's a bit of a lucky dip what gets built and when, there are people who haven't had to wait too long and took delivery fairly quickly. I think the model I've gone for isn't very popular, so might be a reason why it's taken so long

Hopefully it will improve! We’ll see! Not gonna turn back now… maybe it will come for my bday in November ! At least I have a car to use at the moment and thats fair.. I just hate waiting for something that I want!

Found it when looking on the BriskSkoda forum if I remember This is the first time I've gone for a new car, the wait is a absolute killer, but I didn't see anything else I liked so much apart from a JCW Clubman or a BMW 128ti to replace/run alongside my current Cooper S. But I just fancied something a bit different

I checked the attached.. so mine supposedly sill take 5 months for the car + 1 month for the panoramic roof! Total of 6 months! Its worth the wait!

God I do love the people on here, thanks for the info!

It looks like the days of a car just being sat there waiting for parts is long behind us, hopefully you get yours soon mate!

If you've ordered from a dealer they will be able to tell you when your car is to be/has been loaded onto the ship, although they won't know the name of the ship. My dealer kept me posted on the status of mine and when I checked the tracking you can easily find out the name of the ship that is docked in Barcelona on the date you've been given and check its route and you'll know your car is aboard it.

Need to get the part-ex detailed and pictures taken of it, any ideas on who’d give the best price? I haven’t got it valued by the dealer yet but after previous experiences, I’m looking to get low-balled if I stick by them.

I sold my previous car back to the BMW dealer I bought it from who gave me a price the same as others were offering.
