Ordered mine (v2 190ps, Magnetic grey metallic with spare wheel and safety and driving pack XL) 5th June and still no build date. Also the spec change from 1st July means that they are trying to make the car have a grey headliner instead of black. Currently in contact with customer care to make sure the spec is as described when we ordered instead of the imo worse grey headliner.
I've been lumbered with that too on my V2. I ordered mine on the morning of 1st July and all spec on ordering and website was the 2020 model with the black headlining and later that afternoon I went on the Cupra configurator to check something and noticed the grey headlining along with two new body colours and more available options. Called the dealer who didn't even know about the model year change that day and had to enquire with Cupra who advised that my car would be a 2022MY car and the headlining had changed to grey on the V1 and V2, but DSG models now have a heated steering wheel as standard (always thought it was standard on the V2). Didn't really want the grey headlining as it looks rubbish compared to the black and my last three cars have all had a black headliner, but now being able to add the optional virtual tailgate balanced it out for me. Don't know why they couldn't leave the V2 spec as it was in January with the black headlining and standard virtual tailgate.

I have tried to get them to add the virtual tailgate to the spec too and they said they can't do it as it would unlock the pricing agreement that we signed for and so we would instead be paying MY22 prices which is more expensive. Not very happy with the initial response from CUPRA but I'll hear back from them on Monday with an update. If I don't get the tailgate it's not the end of the world but surely they can just tell the factory to pick out the black headlining from a parts bin on that particular car as it doesn't change the cost of it whatsoever. Who knows maybe I'll force them to add the virtual tailgate without changing the pricing for the inconvenience caused :D

I had already done the deal that morning and my car was based on the 2021MY price. When the dealer principle e-mailed me to confirm the 2022MY spec, he asked if I wanted to add any of the new options to my build and I asked for the tailgate. It added around £8 or £9 to my monthly payments, but the overall price of the car remained at the lower 2021 price, although the dealer was doing deals on the V2 models until the 10th of July.

Ahh we were told that the whole finance agreement would have to be recalculated based on a new list price of the car and considering the deal we got I didn't really want to risk getting a worse agreement.

Yeah, I thought I would get hit with the same thing, as I noticed the list price of mine went up by about £850'ish, but it was never mentioned other than the additional £8 or £9 for the tailgate. Mind you, I've not heard anything from the dealer since I confirmed my order despite me emailing them last week to see if they had ordered it or got a provisional build week.

Hopefully they've not forgotten to tell you about that and that's all that changed with the pricing. Are you happy to be given the grey headlining or are you going to try and get it amended like I am?

Hopefully not. I've signed the paperwork with the finance at the 2021 price and nothing since, so I'd imagine they would need to honour that price. At first I wasn't happy about the grey headlining and even thought about cancelling the order, but the rest of that car is so good, and I got to add the virtual tailgate, so I will live with it. In an ideal world I would like to have the black headlining as that is technically what I ordered, and can't see how it can be a cost saving measure as the entire range had black headlining, so they will now have to make grey along with the associated plastics and pillars etc. so if anything will cost VAG more.

Sorry, 13 May.
I ordered just slightly under a month after you and have no date. Hopefully that means I will get mine in November. My A4 goes back then so that would be perfect!

My VZ2 was ordered 24th May and a now a provisional delivery date of 30th October so all this appears to tie in.

I looked at the Toyota hybrid thingy C-hr, with tinted glass and black headlining etc it was so dark and gloomy inside, she passed on that and stuck with her Leon.

Was hoping people could contribute to this thread to allow people still waiting for their cars to put some pressure on cupra. I'm seeing people who have ordered weeks after me claiming their car is on the way and I'm sat here being told they have no idea when mine will be ready.

So if you could be so kind as to post the model you've ordered, when order was placed and when you've been told car is arriving. Please make it clear if you are not sure on dates. In order to be a secured delivery you need a build week and then a VIN number to confirm its built and being shipped I believe.

For me
Vz2 in white
Ordered mid April from cupra dealer
Current status is built but waiting for a part, no VIN or estimated completion date
Hey, so I ordered my first car in early April, a V2 DSG which was a factory order. Patiently waited until June to be told by my dealer that it did not have a build date, and he didn't know when the car would arrive. He offered me an e-Hybrid as an alternative as he could get those quite easily from stock, especially if I resigned the pano roof but it wouldn't have worked for me.

So I cancelled that order mid June, and found a similar car to my original order that had just been built and was waiting at the port in Spain. I pick up the keys on Saturday.

How did you source that?
