The previous owner of my car seemingly knew precious little about cars, so it ended up going to Kwik-Fit regularly for any work it required. The service history is just Kwik-Fit that, Kwik-Fit this... :headhurt:

Anyway they seemingly never changed the pollen filter, the pic below shows all the crap that just fell out on the floor when I pulled it out! The air vents blow better now. Could say the car's had a blow job. :funk:

The fuel filter I changed also appeared to be the original (car is now on 28k miles).

Just a reminder for you lot not to touch those monkeys with a barge pole. :)

had service by kwikfit and they said it needed a new exhaust due to corrosion - I didn't have it done. 10,000 miles later had service and MOT at Seat place, exhaust wasn't even commented on.

what do you expect ?

They used to have an add that went along the lines of
"you can't get:quicker:than a kwick fit fitter"

the word "quicker "was replaced by many others most of which would require censorship
hence the add was dropped quickly,
and the standard of work leaves a lot to be desired

Lol we have that problem over here in Eire, except they arent called Kwik Fit, they are some other company, forget their name..

Asked them once what oil they use for a Tdi unit, "Ah sure all oil is the same" was the reply.

Next question, "Can I supply my own parts, genuine parts that is?" "No our parts cost more than genuine ones". honestly.

Scary.

that's sorta normal for a pollen filter though! I had about that amount of poo after 1 yr :eek:

I supply them parts & I said to one of the guys there 'you don't do any proper car maintance do you, only the simple basic s***.' haha

All he did was laughed & agreed.

Lol get that hedgerow hoovered out your vents then mate!
Filter was only 7.50 and all you Do is slide two bits of plastic pull the case off and it's out :)

Watch your hair tho mate. :lol:
