woke up this morning to find a flat on one of the rears....marvelous! now its on the jack with the wheel nuts off and guess what? Stuck fast! I've sprayed some lube on it and give it a bit of a kick but obviously have to be a bit carefull with that!

Any pointers to getting it off please?

sit on your backside, hands on the top and RAG it towards you
if it dont work, try adding your feet to the bottom to persuade it off

Allways put some copper slip in the threads when you have a wheel off, it pays in the long run...

Glad you got it sorted

top edge of cover first, then pull underside of the skirt away from underside of the car with your fingers as you push the cover on with the palm of your hand.
Otherwise all you do is keep pushing the cover/skirt against the underside of the car.

Surrey darling...
Glad you managed to get it off! Had to use my jack recently and was dead worried about getting the jack cover back on after reading so many horror stories on here... however, the worst part was all the dry mud and grit that sprayed into my face once it came loose

have to say though that once you get the top edge located it really doesn't need more than a sharp thump directly upward from the underneath! It does help if you clean off any accumilated muck before trying it - preferably not into your eyes/face during removal!
