What wheels are they, SalSheik?

Not sure about leaving product on the wheels for the duration, but, if you have and decent wax on the shelf, there is nothing stopping you putting two/three coats of this on to help them through.

Is the lip polished?

My worry is a wax wouldn't bond very well to bare metal. I was going to suggest Collinite 476s Auto wax... a very durable wax/sealant that if layered correctly, can deliver 3+ months protection on a daily driver.

If they're bare metal, try Blackfire's Wet Diamond All Metal Sealant - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/blackfire-wet-diamond-all-metal-sealant-wheels.html

Rimwax, Poorboys Wheel Sealant, ChemicalGuys Wheel Guard are all OK, but, tbh, I see no benefit in that over the likes of Collinite.

I wouldn't use any Halfords wax or high street equivalents.. try scope out 476s as said, or as above (Blackfire)

I believe the lip is polished and not bare metal, they are very easy to clean but like you said i think i better spend a few pennies to keep them looking this way. will look for 476 as mentioned. a couple of coats of this should do the trick then?

Yes - but, make sure you're cleaning them at least once a week.

It isn't ideal running them through the winter with the salt etc, but, if needs must.

All it will take is the slightest stone chip and the water/salt mix will cause havoc.
