Wheel Nut Cover Removal Tool

Hi all,

when I picked up my LCR, i did check that there was a jack and wheel locking nut, and havent really needed to get the wheels off myself, but I've just been thinking of doing the brake refurb and I've realised that I dont have the tool which gets the wheel nut covers off.

So basically:
  • Anyone have a pic of one?
  • Can you buy a generic tool for removal from somewhere?
  • Any other alternative methods that can be used?

Silly I know, but I dont really want to force them or anything. Not fussed about the nut covers, theyre pretty fecked as it is, but dont want to scratch the alloys too much.

Thanks in advance all.

JP

not seen you burning around.?

Lol, yeah not too many Leons about in hemel, havent seen you about either! We'll should have a mini-hemel meet at some point to compare care stories

Anyway, had a dig around the wheel well this morning after taking out the spare alloy, and lo and behold it was hidden away under the wheel. Must have fallen out or just got tossed back in or something. When I was doing that, I noticed that the polystyrene insert with all the tools is looking rather bare...

I seem to have the essentials, being the locking nut, towing hook, jack, screwdriver, tyre iron and now the wheel nut removal tool. However, there seems to be some obvious bits missing based upon empty spaces. From what I can see, there's the small oval gap just to the left of the centre hole, a small thin slot just above the tyre iron and the largest gap, which takes up most of the top half of the circle (the towing hook is sitting in this recess).

Just wondering what things should be in here. Nothing obvious springs to mind, but if peeps could have a look at theirs then might be useful info for me and maybe others.

Cheers, JP
