Wheel arch damage.

Hi.
I’ve just been to view 2 67 plate Ibiza’s for my son’s first car. Both the cars on the nsf wheel arch looked like they’d been pushed out, the dealer said it might have been when going up a kerb. Has anybody come across this or maybe just a coincidence
