What's this under the bonnet?

Does anyone know what that little spinnable knob in the engine compartment just behind the drivers-side front headlight is?

If you're not sure what I mean I might take a picture of it tomorrow (If the rain ever stops!)

the white cog things? i thought they were headlight adjusters.

Just took a look and it's not the white cog - just noticed that! (Good to know what that is though!)

But the one I am interested in is higher up and connected to some kind of metal valve. Looks almost like a household radiator heat adjustment...

is it the secondary water pump that circulates water around turbo after engine has been switched off

my black cap/knob/cover keep coming loose from here - i assume this doesn't do anything detremental.....

its the valve for the Air con system its how you get the gas in when re-gassing there will be a second one somewhere
