on the de-cat pipes most of the seem to have a replica cat, whats the point of it, why isnt there just a straight pipe? and also if you got a 2.5" or 3" downpipe, how would you fit it to the rest of your system, would you need to get the rest of the exhaust (cat back) the same size as the downpipe?

cheers guys

Replica CAT is too try to fool the MOT tester if he looks under the car. 2.75" or 3" downpies are only 2.75" or 3" betwwen the turbo and CAT, the pipe drops back down to 2.5" after the CAT to mate with a 2.5" exhaust system. The way i see it, the larger downpipe gives the turbo some space to spool up before it has to start sqeezing gasses through the CAT.

Tbh, i wouldnt decat a midly moddded Cupra,. Its just asking for trouble as your 2x 02 sensors will freak out giving you an engine light and possibly limp mode. The sports CATs currently available are fine for most applications. If your going all out (big turbo etc) then you could get a custom map to fool the 02 sensors.

Theres a lot debate about wether 3" is needed, but as the 3" Blueflame is £328 (delivered) and the Miltek 2.75" is nearly £400 i went for Blueflame and have not been disapointed. Search for Blueflame or Milktek, should be lots of info about both.

Can you not fit a MIL ELIMINATOR, to fool the ECU into thinking the 02 sensors are still correct? I know you can do on Focus RS's.

Otherwise, would a Jabba custom map not be able to map out the necessity for these to be plugged in? Or is it a aftermarket ECU jobby to be able to do that??
