usually se stands for speacial edition so its probably got something a little extra like a/c, metallic paint, alloys

Very very little - I was trying to find this out too.

However, there is a difference and I can't remember what it is. Maybe something to do with the Climate Control or Temperature settings? I do know the SX was a special edition model made for approx a year and outsold the S and SE models at the time ...

The SX def started as a special edition but think it was kept on for a while as it was popular. One of my mates parents has one 2004 or newer, i know it has digital climate control and I think it gets the rear bumper fully colour coded instead of a black lower half, special design alloys. It will be based on the SE spec but with the extras listed at no extra cost

The SE and SX are almost exactly the same..the only difference being that the SE has sport suspension where as the SX doesn't, except the latter SX models have different alloy wheels - at least thats what a SEAT dealer told me.
