If you only want it for the UK I have just bought a new version Tomtom One. There's also a European version for about £60 more now.

So far I can't fault it. Really easy to use, great routing and I have installed the pcoketgps traffic camera loacation database which seems really good! Haven't been near a camera, or suspect mobile site yet that hasn't been on there.

tom tom one for sat nav and a hint of speed camera's but if you want a proper camera detector get a road angel compact for £150 with the laser detector aswell (detector is another £50 but some are bundling free) i have a tom tom one and use it for the camera stuff aswell and will be getting a road angel also for xmas.

^ how much is subscription for those, just got a 510

Paul there isnt a subscription as for as i am aware for the speed camera database it can be had for free, just needs updating every 3 months or so.

The road angel is £4 a month or something though (first 6 months free)

pop over to pocketgps world there is a tutorial on how to do it, basically they are POI's (points of interest) each fixed or mobile camera and every speed limit have to be manually added as a POI (around 25ish to do). So you grab the database and all the little graphics which have the speeds on them and copy them over to tom. I think its £2 for the database, pm me if you get stuck and i will see if i can dig you out a database.

Really dont see the point in radar detectors...Its the mobile camera vans that usualy get you. Or police cars...Not radar based camera's.

Think you'd be better off just getting a Sat Nav..Id suggest a tomtom.

my one has a lazer detecter on it but you need to react really quickly

A lazer jammer is where the police device sends out 7 beams, and you car sends back 8 ( i think) and it reads as an error on the police device

....i think they are illegal though!
