Whats goin on?

Right i have two main probs at the mo!!

1. the central locking isn't working, but the remote light works fine and it is defo a radio remote? ( had a good search on here so i'm getting an idea of what it could be)

2 the interior light doesn't work when the door opens??, it work fine when i switch it on?? but not with the door?


I have checked all fuses and all of them are fine.

anybody else had these probs? (mainly the light prob??) and do you have a solution?

right shot in the dark here,
i used to own a pug, and they were notorious for their wiring between door, and body fraying.
examine the wiring cover/shroud between the door and body, or perhaps
try taking the door trim off (easy job), and checking the wiring for any wear and tear

the switch for the interior light is actually located on the B-pillar next to the catch that the door locks onto.......

as for the central locking, does it work when using the key in the lock? Have you tried 're-syncing' the key to the car ?!?

The switch for the interior light is indeed on the B pillar so just locate it (not far from the door lock part) and give it a few pushes and try and see what kind of state its in. You could pull the rubber off and spray some WD40 in there, usually works

i just turned the interior light switch nearest the drivers seat to the other side to get interior lights to open with doors

cant help with remote locking until everyone knows if the central locking works with key!

tried re-synicing(sp) the remote with new batteries! and no joy there i used flappers guide off here.

as for the light i will look at the door button and see what sort of state it is in? maybe just decay like soem of you have mentioned

Central locking using the key in the lock works fine! but i have to use the passenger side as the drivers side is broke! key just turns and nothing happens! I have read that it is a quick £5 fix from a dealer for a lock repair kit??? something like that anyways

Central locking pump is working ok then..... not working from the drivers side is the same problem I've got!! Only unlocks/locks the drivers door!

Really need to get round to finding out what I need to repair the lock!!

Not sure what else would be preventing the C/L from working.... I've tried new batteries in my key fob to, and still nothing!

Reckon the actual fob is bust on mine, and they're damn expensive from a dealer

Mine's the old IR type, with a small bulb near the blade of they key. The later ones without the bulb are RF.

central lockin only works on passenger side on mine, it does nothing when i turn the key in the drivers side!!

it's like it isn't connectec to anything?

as for my remote, i have the feeling mine is bust aswell!!! so that two i need!!
