my turbo oil seals seem to be buggered so looks like a new turbo. my question is if the garage i bought the car from does not cover this with warranty what is my best option for a turbo?

i have a 2005 ibiza cupra, would a leon cupra r turbo fit with any benefits?

anyone able to point me to any good websites for turbo's or turbo conversions?

not long owned the car so dont know much places for seat parts :)

had a quick look around the site at my work and see the word hybridisation popping up a fair few times.

now i'm gonna look stupid but what does that mean? what difference does it make to performance?

Having a hybrid k03 turbo is basically having k04 internals fitted into a k03 housing. Its a straight swap with your standard turbo, but will need mapping for it to run properly. You can go for a k04 turbo off an LCR, however, you'll also need an exhaust manifold and a custom downpipe at the very least. Fully maxxed out hybrids can make 280+bhp with all the right supporting mods, which is more or less the same as a normal k04 turbo anyway.

so a hybrid k03 is a straight swap and will run upto 280bhp with supporting mods?

a k04 is a standard lcr turbo but is not a straight fit?

is there any other turbo's out there i could fit capable of higher power that bolt on or come with everything i'd need to convert?

I think you would be better off getting yours hybrided mate as you haven't got to replace or change anything else, that company wil collect your turbo and return it to you within 3 days, email them, their prices are very good

Remember you will need to have the car REMAPPED ASAP!
Running a Hybrid turbo on a standard map is a really bad idea.

i thought it would be ok to run but i just wouldnt get the full potential?

Give CR Turbos or Turbo Dynamics a call, they both can make your turbo into a hybrid for circa £600..

A mate of mine drove from bristol to gloucester with an unmapped hybrid and had no problems  It just makes sense to get it done really, no point in a hybrid if youre not going to map it lol

And yes, 280+ with exhaust manifold, full turbo back exhaust, FMIC, LCR maf, LCR fuel pump, LCR injectors, 4bar fpr (depending on mapper), WMI, maybe uprated rods if you're pushing it that hard. Probably something else too, but I can't think of it off hand.

Have a look in readers rides forum for robbie c's thread, he's got a very well setup hybrid
