Depends on how many ££'s you will be spending on project car modifying
No Jap cars interest you? can make big power on some of these
If you have the time and the money and want to stay vag get a lcr convert it to 4wd and run a very large turbo on it. Not that many big turbo'd leons about.
Or if i was in your position an S4 then modify that

wouldn't it be easier to mod a 4x4 1.8T or 2.8VR6 Leon?
Did any of these make it to the UK?

The TT's are a nice looking car and solid IMO, the quattro really makes a difference in the wet, but i hear a good amount of power is also lost through the drive train, not sure on percentages though, that and the word hairdresser pops into my head everytime i see a TT.

The LCR is alot more aggressive looking IMO with some good power to be harnessed.

there is definately a big difference between a lc and lcr, my heart would say get the lcr but my brain might say get a classic shape sti or even something like an evo 4 or 5 and start to mod that!

i wouldnt get a TT, as rsmith said - hairdressers car pops to mind

not looking to go mental with money this time , probably spend about 2-3k over a year period, ii had a mk1 s3 for a short period , was nice car but wasn't blown away by performance i must admit , it was a 210 model but even still i was expecting more

Come on Pete! you know the answer........... 4x4 Jap Turbo .........
i've been looking but don't think anything we beat my scooby with 446 bhp , i always fancied a evo 4 but they coming on in age now want a bit more refinement as well as performance ,, honestly mo i just don't no what to get it's doing my head in even consider renault megane 225 but heard not reliable

Get an older impreza or evo, but if you HAVE to have either an LCR or TT, LCR everytime.

Evo 3 - £2 -£3.5K = Awesome old skool tool

Evo 4 - £2.5 - 4.5K

Bug Eye Subaru with front lights converted = £3.5-4K (Becoming a classic now, not many on the roads)

Nissan Pulsar GTI-R = 2 - 3.5K = Perfect project car

Mazda RX-7 = 3.5-5.5K = Machine

The 4x4 Haldex system is piss poor compared to real 4x4 on Jap car's....

LCR or TT

TT are nice but all Audis have electrical problems unless the recalls have been done but they make stealth turbos using your OEM components to the tune of 400 HP right off.....

add a Haldex controller and your there I would add a down pipe and cat-back so the sound matches it speed

be careful though you can really get sucked into modding it.....:lol:

something completely different..............

Renault clio 172/ 182. Cheap money nowdays and they handle awesome. My best mate had one that he turbo'd, Was a low boost conversion running only 7psi but was 230bhp and rapid.
