cars been having loads of probs recently, limp mode, surging power up the rev range, took it to seat to check it out and it came up with a maf fault and a throttle body fault. they rest the throttle and whilst driving back my car overheated!!
i had the car remmaped and ive had continuous problems with it but can all this be caused by the map or is it just a coincidence
also any ideas on why its overheating id love to hear them i drove it carefully back and it stayed pretty much at normal, anything to look out for
cheers james

Ok - LC or LCR? How many miles?

Do you still have the standard water pump fitted? (plastic impeller) If so, consider this a possible cause. Characteristics of plastic-fins snapped off the impeller include rapidly climbing temperatures but occasional spurts of effective cooling. Only cure is a new unit -ideally one with a brass impeller (Audi TT water pump).

It's a belt-driven pump, so you may as well change the cam belt at the sametime for added peace of mind.

Aside from that, how are you fluid levels holding?

EDIT: When I had a snapped-fin impeller, I was convinced the soaring temperatures had brought about limp mode, as well. Thinking back.. everything you're describing seems similar to my past water pump fun.

its in at seat at the moment, they think its defintately the water pump im sure well i hope they will check the cheaper stuff first like the fuses, its only done 20,000 miles so its a bit unexpected to be the water pump, today it was ok when i took it down just running a tad hot but you wouldnt notice it unless you were looking carefully. i spent more time looking at the temperature guage than the bloody road
