Can take off and turn them black with plasti dip which would be more or a Matt Finnish but if you change your mind can peel off . Or get some black wrap and wrap them which would give a gloss like finish . Or take them to a pro and get them painted properly or even hydro dipped if you fancied .

Cheers mate will look at maybe plasti dipping them! Don’t suppose anyone replaced the air filter in a 2014 Ibiza FR 1.2? I’m looking at doing it but am worried I’m going to buy the wrong thing so wondered if anyone has recommendations?

As said above if you want to do it yourself plastidip or wrap. I had mine wrapped but the wrap has torn due to damage so I'm just going to buy a painted set off eBay. You can pick them up for £50 for a painted black set, will last a lot longer than wrap and plastidip. For air filters, I'm running a forge induction kit on mine, bit pricey but looks and sounds good. Not too sure on what it does for performance as not had mine dyno'd yet

Nice colour choice! I’ve got the exact same one but in Nevada white. The current mods that I have got on my one are:
- Back box delete and custom dual tips - cost me about £120 an
- Remap - was at 103bhp now at 130bhp, cost me about £400 with an forced induction clean included, can’t hugely tell a difference if I’m honest
- After market wheels - 18” Rosso RR8’s, this was an expensive job and took time as they don’t make the right ones for my car so I had to get the silver ones and send them back to Rosso to get them painted to how I wanted them , all together including new tyres was £980
-Mudflaps, not a great mod as such but I really like them as it makes my car stand out a lot
- blacked out SEAT logos on front and back, including Ibiza lettering and front bumper
I’ve also replaced stock aerial with a fin

Have you any ideas on what you want? Sorry if I bored you reading all of this!

Don't mind my last reply haha haven't a clue how to use this lol. Getting a 1.2 tsi I tech on Wednesday here and was thinking about getting remapped, did you really not feel much of a difference? Also wondering if anyone has used a tuning chip and if they're any good? Cheers

I've driven the 1.2 TSI Ibiza with a tuning box. In my experience you have to fiddle around with the settings on the box as you usually have 2-3 different maps on it, with various levels of intensity. Be prepared to do lots of little test drives!

When I used it, I found that some of the settings on the box didn't produce anything noticeable in terms of performance gains, and some did. The car felt punchier in the mid-range when I had it on the "correct" setting.

Tuning boxes are definitely useful but I would go with a traditional remap if you want a bigger and more consistent power and torque increase.

Any in particular? And any exhaust suggestions? Don't want anything to loud, just something that fits the car that's an upgrade

There are dozens of tuners offering traditional remaps, quick Google search will let you compare power gains and prices etc to find the right one for you. Some tuners will give you permanent remap and you lose your stock software settings, others will give you a remap and the original stock settings on a flash drive so that you can uninstall / reinstall it as necessary.

Race Chip and DTUK are two big names doing the plug in tuning boxes that I know about.

I'm not an expert on exhausts as I have never had a custom exhaust on either of my Ibizas. I suppose you could have part or all of the muffler of the stock exhaust removed? That would give you more noise if that's what you want, and it's much cheaper than paying for a whole new exhaust system.

Definitely get the stage 1 remap, makes huge difference, feels like a new car! Most places can hide the maps so seat garages cant see it's been revamped if its warranty your worried about. Or another thing most of them will offer Is wiping the map before a service etc... and they can just flash it back on to the ECU once your done takes them 10 mins as they have the map stored!

Thinking of getting mine remapped 1.2 ibiza fr,only stage one for the time being. Does it last indefinitely until changed? Just read an earlier post stating you'll need to update settings so does that mean it'd go back to the orinal power or does it stay at the new BHP/nw until I take it to be changed.

Edit, think I mis read the post haha, your old stats get over written with new settings indefinitely is that right until changed again so wouldn't need to change for an MOT or service?

Yeah that's correct, so they put the new map settings on the car which overwrite the old ones, some places can hide that they have remapped the car, others will just tell you to come back before any warranty related services etc.. and they will remove the new settings and return car back to original, but will flash the new settings back onto the car when done, takes 10mins and most places do it for free depends who you go to for the remap. I cant recommend anywhere as I'm In ireland haha
I have mine done since last week and the difference in the cars performance is 100% worth the money plus you'll have fuel savings which will pay for the cost of the remap eventually! The baseline for fuel savings is about 10%.

I've been thinking of blacking out the front of my Ibiza, (basically the bit the front Reg sits on) Is there anyway you had this done, Like with spray paint or did you get it professionally wrapped at a garage or something like that??

I just had mine done and a before a d after run on duno with and without induction kit, with the 1.2 tsi engine it's making an extra 2-3 hp it varied on different runs, so all in all it's mainly for the sound of it and that really makes a difference!

You can buy a big plastic sticker off Ebay to go behind the reg, it's a bit flimsy but looks like a cheap alternative to wrapping, cant remember what is called!

Was yours sitting at 105bhp? Also what map did you get and what was the performance increase? Seriously considering getting it done in the coming months. Cheers for the reply aswell
