What LCR mods are considered stage 1 and stage 2?

Stage 1 is generally the initial generic remap. Most tuners say an air filter, sports cat and system are essential for a stage 2 or custom map. I don't think there is a massive difference in the actual map levels, they just allow things to be pushed a little further with the increased flow of gasses. Its more an increase above the sum of the parts.

Most likely at work
basically;

stage 1:
no requirements. as said above its a generic map

stage 2:
induction kit
dumpvalve
silicon turbo intake pipe
exhaust (preferably full system with sports cat/decat and bigger downpipe)

thats about it. a front mounted intercooler would help but it is not necisarry.

hope that helps!

Stage 1 is considered excellent value for money
Stage 2 is considered the beginning of the end for your credit card and the first lesson in understanding 'diminishing returns for your money'

Before stage 2 on an LCR i'd consider suspension and braking upgrades

I'm thinking Ferrodo DS Pads and Anti-roll bars

Can you get a remap on standard LC 180 - or would it be wise to uprate the suspension?

I have a 2004 LC 180 and a set of 18's - do I need a brake upgrade?

Worth considering upgrading air filter, dv and tip with a stage 1 map as well I'd say.

Full exhaust, fmic and stage 2 map will cost quite a lot for not much gain - so I'd agree with Rudd that after a stage 1 think about braces, arbs, brakes, dbm, etc.

I'm not 100% sure exactly what you mean here. Basically the OEM part was a bosch diaphragm dv that people change to a stronger and faster reacting forge piston dv.

your brakes will be ok but upgrade your pads if you feel the need.

007p is fine. as long as the valve is recirculating and not blow off/atmospheric type your ok.

if you want to upgrade the stock valve but wanted to stay with the diaphram the APR R1 is a good dv.. stronger version of the stock one really.
