Hi All
Driving to work this morning, the car started to make a really loud noise as if a pipe had come off the turbo. It was coming from the drivers side. I got to work fine and made the trip home ok so i had a quick look. I jacked the car up to see and this was hanging down a little, what is it please? i realise its part of the exhaust / turbo system but i dont know what it is
Where i have circled in red, this part was hanging down so i psuhed it back up, where the arrow points to, under the arch liner, there is a plasticy looking device with a pipe on it secured by a jubilee clip, this clip was loose and i thought i had found the problem, but when i slipped the clip on to where i thought it should go and tightened it up it made the car run worse!
i took the car for a spin, I could not do more than 60 and every time the turbo was engaged the loud noise was present the car was sluggish and very lumpy at high revs so i have came home. can anyone tell me what the likely cause of this is? and what the part is?
I am planning to get it looked at at the weekend but any advice woudl be great
Thanks
Ian
