what do you get to a tank - FR TDI

Just approaching my first week with the new car and i am finding the MPG really poor. I filled up last Sunday and have since done 430 miles and have had to fill up again. I have been averaging 38mpg on the motorway in 6th gear and not even thrashing it??

I bought my Cupra TDI from new and this got more miles to the tank and the MPG on the same journey was about 49mpg.

Just curious to know what everyone else is getting... must be because its new but would have thought it would have been better than this?

Thought it was the running in period.. still got more out of the cupra but suppose more power means its a small price to pay!!

I do 450-500 miles a week in mine, all motorway...I've only got 1600 on the clock and I'm currently getting 43 ish. I expect it will go to 45 for the same regular journey when I've got a few more miles on the clock...any more and we're in bonus territory! ;)

picked our ref sport up on Tuesday and have done 470 miles and still have quarter tank left. We did spend most of the day on the motorway going to my parents and it averaged 47mpg. Its very comfy and smooth too.

Mine's done just over 600 miles in its first week from new
First tank gave 38.66 mpg (actual), trip computer read 39.1 (pretty damn close)
Looks like its up about 1-2 mpg on this tank so far, mixed urban/a road but with plenty of (hcc-hmm) enthusiastic acceleration up to, and beyond the legal limit cruising at 85 in 6th on the a roads.
Thank god for cruise control, as this is not a car that feels like it wants to sit at that speed in 6th, in fact I think its 'inherent' cruising speed is something like 95mph.
You can't expect lots of mpg until its well run in, I expect mine to continue gradually improving to about 45 mpg avg with 10k on the clock.

 Had my TDI DSG since the end of March. I have now done 8K & get between 48 & 50 MPG  indicated. Normally fill up around 1/4 tank that's about 450 miles done.

My Leon 2.0 TDi FR does:

At 70MPH (2000 Revs / 6th Gear) I get on average around 43.6 MPG. 430 Miles on the clock now.

According to the miles left to refil I should get about 500 miles off my full tank of (£45 (93.9p per litre)) Diesel.

I've tried travelling as slow as 60MPH and I think it went up as high as 46.1MPG but I hate travelling so slowly on the M6.

Aye at least. Since venting I could maybe do 700 but haven't tried as I only need 600.

I've got a LCR with now just over 5.5k on it... started off getting about 350 mile to a tank max... now I've just done 450 miles on a tank, and the light still never came on...must have been seconds away tho! Once the needle drops, it drops!!!

For a Leon Cupra R I'm well chuffed with that! Ok, it hasn't been drivin hard, but who cares! Im driving a LCR that does 450 (and a bit more) to a tank! And the price of petrol is getting cheaper by the day! :p

450 from a tank that is good going - I usually only manage around 500 - but I do tend to leave people in a cloud of smoke and soot.

Yeah, like I said I'm chuffed to bits with that... must admit to driving like an old fart tho, but I dont mind!

If I had "fun" in her im sure it would struggle to clear 250!!!
